  • W220 from the uk

    Hi everyone.

Just starting a new project and thought I would finally join for some inspiration and some help if needed.

Just picked up a 2001 Mercedes S Class W220, it's only a 3.2 V6 but sounds awesome with the straight pipes fitted. Needs a proper clean and the paint is shocking and has the dreaded Mercedes rusty arches but this will soon be sorted!

Has been lowered on the standard Airmatic and will see how this works out in the long run,

New shoes on the way and a proper polish first though!

    Anyway what you all think?

This will look amazing with some wider wheels.

Nice! I was going to buy a W220 same year but it had rust on the arch and a little on the corners of the doors. Had to pass. Ended up picking up a super clean W210.
Looks nice and low. What are the plans for it?

      progress IS a slow process

Mine is suffering with rusty wings an the bottom of the doors, but I trained in a body shop as a teenager and am currently training in vehicle wrapping so not to much of an issue for me.

Initial plans are to get some new wheels on it and get them spaced out a bit then deal with rust and get it wrapped!

Still can't decide on colour though

I'll get a vid of exhaust up next week when it's back on the road ;-)

Satin green was on my short list!

              Satin:
              Military green
              Grey
              Deep blue

              Or high gloss black
