My first time messing with fiberglass. No flashy HIN style stuff for me, simple carpet covered, recessed enclosure. 2 - 10" Alpine Type R's, 600w mono amp, voice coils in series, speakers in parallel. Amps mounted on the side wall now. Enclosures internal volume is @ 1.2cu/ft per speaker.

They were just much shorter, gave me another 1 1/2" over the Koni rear spring.

I wanted a cheap way to experiment with different spring sizes for the rear of the wag, I found a nearly new set of Drop Zones on ebay that were for a Mitsu Eclipse. I figured I'd cut them until I got where I wanted to be then call 1552 or MJM Autohaus and have them find me the size spring I wanted. Well the rear springs were way tall so I started with the shorter front DSM springs, they fit just fine in the VW rear spring seats and gave me the drop you see in the pics without perches. Got lucky, no cutting, no calling around, job done! I'm still using the Koni shock and I don't notice any difference from inside the car.

interesting, reason i ask is because i was looking for a way to go lower in the rear, but the wagon rear weighs a bit more than the sedan so I'm not sure ill have the same ride height. I'm waiting for my 18's to come in so i can test fit and see if i need to go lower.
