Hey SW population. I'm a newbie here obviously, and I'm in Wasilla AK. where the weather gets down to 20-36 below. I have a job here down the street from where I'm currently staying, but I have no car!
But I do know that when I get my hands on that unique Japanese whip, imma build it up and make it look extremely fresh. So here I am with a below average paying job at a cafe.
I began my search for a ride about a week after I got my job, searched on craigslist a couple of times, hoping to find one in the lower 3 digits price range. I had one car that i was vaguely familiar with, a 1991 Toyota Tercel for $150!! but of course with a pricetag as such, there is without a doubt bound to be something wrong with the car.
So i called the guy up and he told me some of the stuff that needed to be done on it and said he could pick me up and take me to see it. I was taken aback being faced with this opening on my horizon so I said sure, let's check it out.
Got to his place and I looked it up and down, saw that it was missing a drivers door handle, it needed a key made, a new battery, and also a new cable. and lots of oil. shit.
I don't need this, i thought to myself. So we talked BS over a cigarette and then something caught my eye on the other side of his property.
I pointed at the other vehicle sitting in the shade of an rv sitting next to it and asked him what it was and it was his dad's car that has been sitting for 20+ years! after asking if i could take a closer look, we walked over to it.
And my first initial reaction was i couldn't identify what the make and model was of this sleek 2 door ride that was sunken into the dirt and had a nice low gradual slope towards the rearend.
He spoke up and said "oh this is a Toyota Supra. And as if i didn't see the writing before, sure enough on the side panel between the Drivers door and the rear window it said Mark I Toyota Celica Supra.. I was dumbfounded that I had moved recently to Alaska from Cali and i find a classic japanese muscle car in its purest form.
I have yet to snap some pics but I am going to make an offer on it soon for about 450 because he might just want to get it off his hands and property. Thanks for reading if you did, and I will definitely try to get some pics of it soon,
