  • Ohai. Peugeot 205 fanatic and BMW lover here

    Hi StanceWorkers,
My name is Paulo, 28 years old and come from Portugal, Europe.
I´ve been checking some of the projects here on Stance|Works for some time, and all of them made me drool...

About my garage history. It´s a short story...
Since i have my drivings license (2005) i´ve only had Peugeots. The first one was a 205 ColorLine (1.100cc 60hp, 790kg , 4 doors, sunroof...) that i got from my sister.

(front bumper isn't the original peugeot one)
Rocked a lot with this buddy. First car and all... you know.

8 months later, i bought my first car... a 1.9 turbodiesel Peugeot 306.
This is how it stands right now, almost fully stock.

    (crappy cell pics)

Daily Driver. Never failed me, and is fairly confortable.
At the time i kept both cars (205 and 306), but after some time, an opportunity to trade my 1.1 peugeot 205 for a 1.4 one with more equipment, presented itself and i seized it. haha

So now we got to the best part, in my biased opinion... The Peugeot 205 XS.

1.4L 8v alu block, 85hp fed by a 32/34 Solex pushing 810kg. It´s kinda quick. And has almost as much equipment as a GTi 205.
I´ll open a topic for it, or else this one will get too long...

And that is my cars resume until now, but i do have plans to get another one in the near future. Going old-school with a E28 Bimmer. hehe
I have one especific E28 under my sights, but the owner isn´t selling.
It´s this '83 525. They´re pretty rare here in Portugal. This one is mechanically mint, just needs interior and paint. And rims, and bags, and, and, and...

I´ll let ya´ll know for sure if/when i get to buy it.

    Sorry for the long post.
    Cya around.

      Thanks puggernaut! awesome nickname
We don´t have 525e´s here. It would be perfect for me, since it would be a daily-driver, and the better mileage is a plus (though i´m also considering a 520). What are your mileage numbers with the e?

Sweet, a Rallye! What engine does it have(TU24 or TU3)? Your dad is a boss.

          Haha, thanks!

My Rallye has the TU24, so quite rare in the UK as we didn't get that version (mine is a French import).

Mileage on the e is, well its not brilliant of fuel! It should be able to get around 30 and a bit miles per gallon. But I like the noise of it too much, so it gets a lot of throttle under bridges etc . Even at that it gets 24 miles per gallon.

E28s are great cars, no matter which one you go for!

Ah ok, not the rather weak UK-spec. You have the real deal! Congrats man.
I´m actually building my engine with a lot of TU24 parts.

Ok, around 10L per 100Km then. That´s expected, with that delicious I6 sound. hehehe

Yeah, i´ve been reading a lot about older bimmers for the last year, and the E28 certainly is one of the praised bmw models.

Cool, the xs should go really well then! I just watched the videos too, it really takes off after 4000rpm.

Snap, been busy checking the builds section, didn´t notice you posted here puggernaut.

Thanks. I hope to get it running a bit faster soon. ;D

I´ll open up a project thread once i finish checking like 20 tabs of builds that i still have opened. Checked about 40 'till now. Dope cars in here.

The XS was a sort of mini gti and go fairly well.

I'm a bit of a Peugeot (especially 205) nerd though

Like puggernaut wrote, the XS is like a mini GTi. It´s kinda unknown, so it´s also a bit underrated. I like to see it as a sleeper. haha.
The interior is also well equiped, like the GTi, except for the leather in the seats (late GTis), and oil temperature and pressure gauges.

Fun fact: Chris Harris (from Drive) has a XS.

Where´re you from P78? I hope that at the time you were driving the 1.9 the roads were twisty.
                        Cheers
