  • My not so special honda

    Stance|twerks build thread

    current mods

    engine:
2007 Crv R20 bottom end franky swap
    eagle sleeves
    eagle rods
    cp pistons
    greddy Rs exhaust
    drilled cat
8th civic Diy somewhat cold air intake
    battery drop down

    suspension:
    Godspeed coilovers
    p2r rear low tie brace
    corsport c pillar brace

    wheels and tires:
    Fuzion Hri 205/40/17
    xxr 962 17x9 +35

    interior:
    Bride vios iii
    wink mirror
    stupid bubble shift knob

    future mods:
    air ride
    new wheels
    something else

So the story starts with a 2009 civic, nothing special just a ex-l coupe with honda's lousy single slammer 1.8 r series.

first stupid mod greddy rs exhaust

wanna be track set up, 275/45/17

I never had any clue what I was going to do or go for with the car, at first I wanted a track car but that dream fell quickly especially after blowing $7k on a new built up 2.0L bottom end, the stock block did not even have 5k on it before i scraped it and put the r20 bottom end on. My new bottom end consisted of eagle sleeves and rods and cp pistons all needed to not even gain 30 extra hp....

I should have got an si...

Later down the road find out tune is crap car over heats installed gauges to monitor wether car is going to explode at this red light or the next

at this time its May 2012 I find some used xxr's 962's for sale 17x9 +35 and literally do not touch these for the next entire year... did I mention... 2 are gold 2 are grey lol

their resting place for the year of 2012 and most of 2013

plasti dip them so they all match

bought godspeed coils....new....for............$340...I have had no problem with them

civic owner in me makes me plasti dip my stockies black

and I thought this was slammed at the time LOL

    second of many smyth photos

    also got a whale tail.

then i realized how low I could go on stock wheels

then grew up a little and took off the plasti dip

    My interior nothing special

finally decide to get tires, tire rack Fuzion zri 205/40/17 $42 a tire

some how fit all of them in my coupe

    stretch 205/40 on a 17x9

put them on for a test fit and....

    wheel gap for days

camber all messed up +1 in the front -4 in the back

at least the rears fit nice

and finally after a hair adjusting this is maxed out all around

first time revealing the car at cars and coffee, wheel gap was bad
    very bad

finally get adjust it a bit more in the front to go maybe a bit lower and then took some photos

    time passes

go to a euro meet at redline in Cockeysville Md

end up being the center of attention and declared lowest static

find out after a little adjusting I can hit a new max and literally the max of the coil it self

June 2013 Head down to Ocean city for fresh meet and oc car show

take some photos down there by the board walk

    stance|twerks

and finally my favorite shot to date

    and another smyth photo

best photo to show progression of my build

this is where my car is currently, air ride is in the works now along with real wheels

cheers thanks for checking out my build thread

      Very nice, huge transformation!

Maybe I missed it but why did you build the bottom end? Plans for turbo?

Thanks!, I was originally planning on heavy boost but since its my daily, I strayed away from it, for the plan of saving money and using it to build a project car

Nice man! I like what you've done with it. Clean setup. I would change the camber at the front as it does look like it has a slight positive look to it. Regardless, good work.

What kind of power did you make? Get an exhaust clip, never heard a built R series motor before.

Somewhere around 160-175, ill try to get a clip soon. Everyone that hears my exhaust either thinks I'm cammed, boosted or both, but ill try to get a clip soon.
