There's nothing wrong with the car but its not right for vip
Check my previous post, with the photobucket links(didn't want to clutter this thread)
The car in those pictures is a pre updated same generation optima. Essentially the same car as his, with different front fenders, headlights, hood, tail lights, and trunk.
Untill just this year, and not forgetting the Amanti from 04-09, its the largest and most expensive sedan Kia made. Granted its not a BMW, Lexus, etc... I think the body style would look good VIP'd.

If you're gonna go VIP, this needs bags and some seriously awesome wheels. This body style should soak up 18's or maybe eve 19's pretty well wheel wise. To do it right though, you're gonna need to spend like $3k on some baller wheels.

On all my previous cars (92 Eagle Talon TSI & Honda Civic Si) I had coilovers. Not really familiar with bags and not sure the correct route to go.
I figured I could get it somewhat "flush" with just the coilovers. I want to get suspension and go from there to see what my options are.
Do people purchase a good coilover kit (like NEOTech ones I posted up) along with a bag setup?
edit:
These are the wheels I had in mind. Either the Privat Legende's or the Privat Kup's

Buy some used JDM wheels like I did. You'll get a hell of a lot more wheel for your money. I bought my wheels from VRWheels and I would buy another set from them.

I like those WALD's a lot. However since this is my daily driver I am aiming more towards a set of 18's. My girlfriend ***** that I modded my civic and the fact that it was slammed to the ground and VERY bumpy. I want to get the coilovers with adjustable dampening feature in hopes that it will be a somewhat smooth ride compared to getting just the height adjustable ones.
As far as suspension, which route do you recommend I take? What is your spectra sitting on?

Usually if your suspension is bouncy, your spring rates are no good compared to the shock dampening. A proper coilover setup, or one that you pieced together properly should have no real bounce, but either rock hard, or able to absorb bumps and make you feel like you are crawling over the bumps in the road without hammering your back.
Those zaubers are beautiful. 18"s are the perfect size for this gen optima.
Go for air if you want a comfortable and readily adjustable ride. If you want to live the low life though, go with coils. Neotech is really popular in Korea, most of the cars from bobaedream in the KDM thread run them IIRC.
