Glad to be joining Stance Works. I've read a couple threads now and just recently joined mye28 when I decided to put some time into my bimmer. And then decided it'd be a good idea to join here too once I kept coming across so many nice fives over here as well. Its my second '88 528e. Bronzit is the color. I've had it since October/November. I had the first one (Delphin Metallic) for 4 years before that and my dad had it for 16 years before me. Then after we let her accumulate too many problems (shame on us) we sold it and bought the Bronzit from our mechanic.
Since I've had it I've changed the oil and filter, put in new spark plugs, new air filter, new fuel filter, re-painted the grille, hood vents, and window trim, put in e34 comfort front seats, replaced the hood and trunk emblems, and Krylon'd the high beams and fogs. Pee beams FTW!
There are a few other small issues that need to be addressed but she runs well. Next up tho I need new front brakes, or at least new rotors and pads. and I want to cut the stock springs. About 2 coils off the front and 1.5 off the back. Although, i'm a complete novice when it comes to that type of thing so any and all help would be appreciated. I've done research about the pros and cons and I will not be attempting it alone.
And of course I want new wheels over the stock 14" TRXs. I bought some 15x7 Style 27s off craigslist for 120 but that was before I knew about offset so they wont fit. I'm currently trying to trade them for some wheels that will fit or at least resell them. http://www.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?t=117111&highlight= anyone interested please pm.
Those are pretty much the immediate plans. Oh, and maybe plastidip it matte black since the paint is horrible. Here's some pics of the car.
P.S no passenger side pics cuz there is a huge dent in the rear passenger door and the moulding is gone so that side is never photographed
