  • Hello from DFW- MR2 Spyder... again

    I'll make it shorter this time, I've always liked the slammed look coming from a GTI and SC300, but wanted a race car so I bought the MR2 which I take to time trials as often as possible. The car has a 2zz-ge motor swapped in, gutted interior, OMP Ronco GT seat with a Schroth Profi II ASM 4-point harnessm and a Harddog rollbar. Cheap K-Sport coilovers for now, but the plan is to keep the springs and adjustable sections and swap in Koni yellows once the current struts blow. The only appearance mods I really have on the exterior include the TTE (Toyota Team Europe) front bumper and the CF hood though it's mainly there for weight savings.

    why I want a stanced car for a comfortable daily, anything would be more comfortable than a gutted interior, coilovers, and race bucket.

    The lack of side skirts and a lip makes the car look taller than it actually is, as it is I drag a foot of my underbody brace across my driveway every time I go somewhere.

    The wheels i'm currently running for the street are 14x6.5 BBS Basketweaves off of an E30.

    I'm looking at getting some 15x7 ET 30 F, 15x7 or 15x8 et 20-25 rear, lightweight wheels for mounting some grippier tires for Timetrials on, trying to decide between TR Motorsports, the new Enkei PF01, and the 949 Racing 6UL.

    Anyways, I hope y'all find something to like, I love cars in general and appreciate a variety of cars, I know some may consider mine a bit ricey (especially once I get my VIS CF wing mounted to make the car more stable under braking) but everything has a purpose.

    running a PPE 4-1 header with a test pipe and magnaflow muffler, but am replacing the entire section from the header back with some custom fabbed work to make it lighter and hopefully sound better.

        Thanks, I also forgot to post the picture my friend took at the last cupcake meet I was able to attend (missed the last Austin one since my Fidanza clutch blew, replaced with ACT sprung 6 puck .



        I'll try to get him to do a photoshoot for me once I get the exhaust refabbed, using 2 Vibrant Resonators and adding my spun metallic core cat back to the system, this time it's exiting through the rear plastics for better clearance.
        Also i'm stickerbombing the rear decklid so I will order some stanceworks decals once they are availabe again.

        And random thought, is it a bad thing that i'm trying to figure out how to modify the entrance to my driveway a bit so I can go lower without taking out the oil pan or front bumper?

        Though currently i'm as low as I can go without rubbing 225/50/15 R 205/50/15 F while racing... okay, without rubbing enough to warrant raising anything... I keep pulling bits of fender liner our as the tire eats them away
