I started to look at build threads here recently just out of boredom, I'm honestly not into the whole stretched tires (frankly I think mine are a bit too stretched where most on here wouldn't even call it a stretch haha) but there are some really nice cars being built here and a lot of them have pleasantly surprised me. I manly signed up so I could search, cant do that without signing in. anyway, on to my car. Its a 2004 Jaguar X-type, 2.5 V6, 5 speed and awd. TONS of fun to drive, but a little low on power and understeers too much. So I'm working on those problems while making the car my own. There isn't a lot of aftermarket for these, but thankfully for me they share suspensions with ford focus and mondeo, mazda 3 and 5 and Volvo V50 and s40 so I've been researching what parts will fit my car. In fact the short shifter I have on my car is for an 04 Mondeo but bolts right in. I might start a build thread some day, but I don't take many pics so I don't have a lot of pics of the work I've already done. Enough of me rambling. here's the car.

Yeah I love mine, I've wanted a BRG 5 speed x type for years now. Mine has 170k miles on it and runs GREAT, it was well taken care of and I think I'm only the 2nd owner. I'm blessed. I've come across pics of your XJ on here a few times, nice car. I want a XJS V12 next, something about that V12 just calls to me.sigpic

If you ever need any help man, PM me. I was going to buy one of these and did a bunch of research on them. Matters what you want, I can tell you what you need.

on the X type or the XJS? I wont be getting a XJS until the X type is "done"...or at least close to done.sigpic

I've heard all the horror stories about the V12 jags, I've also seen a lot of great running badass V12 jags too. There are horror stories about X types too (and just about any older Jag) but I don't have those problems (my car has 170k miles) and since I'm aware of them, I know what to watch for. The way I've always looked at any car is, you find the weaknesses, then you strengthen them. One of the biggest reason why I want an XJS one day IS the v12. I love the look and sound of the wide bodied XJS race cars from the 80s, so one day I'm going to build one I can drive on the street. But first, I'm building up my X type into the car I've always wanted.sigpic
