  • This isn't really my scene, but....

I'm Ricky. I'm the co-founder, and head[/only] tech, of Chuck N' Dick's Garage down in Richmond, Va. I've been into cars for a while, and blah blah blah.

I do a ton of rust repair on older aircooled VW's and I've been working on mostly Volkswagens for the better part of 12 years. I'm kind of over it, and I'm really looking to branch out with this new business and do a lot more creative work and get into more shit than just repairs and rust/rot repair and maintenance work.

Current shop projects are a 1970 Volksrod and my 82 Yamaha Virago "cafe" bike (which has electrical annoyances but has otherwise been built for a few years). We had a '72 squareback but that just left to be with a new owner, and I'm sure will shorty be replaced with another shop project. So far there aren't any customer builds worth really mentioning, but there should be a motorcycle build and a couple older VW builds coming up soon that might be worth talking about, we'll see.

Here's some pictures of some of the work I've done over the last couple years, just as an example. Feel free to hit me up if you have questions or need anything, I'm always lookin for new clients and opportunities.

I've actually done a little work on that red volksod they built with the V6 and van roof section. Guy that owns it now came by a shop I part-time/freelance at. I've seen video of a lot of their projects, but only seen the volksrod in person. I'd really love to meet the owner some day, I dig his style on most of the stuff I've seen.

I think you were just the guy who traded with LB for a MKI jetta correct? Your squareback looks impeccable.

That was Dylan. He's the other half of the garage, the squareback was his, although I did most of the work on it. He's currently working out ideas on that Jetta, so I'm sure we'll have another build coming up shortly.

I'm going to have to look that up. I **** scooters, but if its something funny, I can completely enjoy laughing at it.

We will be keeping updates going on it. Dylan started a build thread for it here:

                          http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=45554

Its getting painted and tuned up, nothing too crazy right now. We'll be swapping garage time with it, the rod, and a customer's Mk1 Rabbit truck build that we're finishing up for him.
