Hi, my name is Clarence been a luker here for a while and decided to join. Ive been in the car scene for a while but after becoming a single father I lost the time to wrench on my cars. Ive been reading a lot of the build threads here which has given me the motivation to get started on a new project. I wanted to build something that Ive never built before and learn in the process. I looked at E30s,E36s and so on but the ones I would find needed a lot of work and working 74hr work weeks and being a single father I needed something that could be reliable (reliable and project usually dont go together but I needed them to in this case) and not take too much time to wrench on but still allowed me to fill that spot in my heart for car building Ive been missing. So, long story short last night I went out and bought a 2005 X3 ..new to the whole Euro scene so Im always open to suggestions. Ive already ordered the H&R full coilover suspension. I would love to go air, but I would like to get more knowledge under my belt before taking the dive. Next step will be the wheels and coming to terms with a nice wide rear thinking 20x10.5(11) and decent 20x8.5 (9) front and have it as low to the ground as possible. Should be a fun build and I look forward to getting to know you guys. Ive lurked so much on this site I feel as though already know most of you and you all seem to be a great group of people. I will post pics of it as soon as I can.
