  • New to forums + need some help(Saturn Drivers wanted)

Hey guys! New to the forums here. I just pick up a 1998 saturn sw2, 1.9L 5 speed.

What's a good, cheaper (sub-250) roof rack setup I can buy for it?
Looking for something with a fairing, and something that can use or comes with bike rack rails.
I cant find much that seems worth it that'll fit a saturn.

Also, what are some less-technical performance mods I can do to an sohc engine to give it a little extra kick? It's my DD, but I'm gonna be running some SCCA autocross in the area with it, so yeah.

Not sure where the Saturn guys are at. If you are, post here.

      Welcome!
I got a Yakima rack for 20$ at a junkyard, but then you've got to get them to a locksmith to get keys made. That may be the best way to do it. I'm not overly knowledgeable on car racks.

As for Performance upgrades for a sohc, I've always read that there isn't much and it's not worth it. I used to have a sohc myself, if you can swap in a standard dohc you will be much happier, as well they actually do show hp gains with bolt ons or a turbo. Sohc don't really...

      Hope that helps.

Swap on a dohc head. You need DOHC head, head gasket, headbolts, DOHC valve cover, Timing set, and timing chain cover. DOHC exhaust manifold and DOHC intake manifold. Sounds far worst than it is.
