  • Another Brit and his project Evo.

    Hey StanceWorks,

Like you find with most 'noobs' I've been browsing these forums for awhile now but never found cause to sign-up, until now.
I'm a big fan of the recent Hellaflush/Stanced/Clean style of modding, especially over in the US and AUS where they really seem to deliver the amazing looking and 'out there' projects. I think the scene is gradually catching on over here in the UK but seems to be more popular in Dub scene, which I appreciate, but don't closely follow.

Let me introduce my car/rolling shell.

The chassis belongs to a 96' Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV GSR, a car which I expect many of you won't be too familiar with seeing at it never made it stateside.

I brought that car in its relatively standard form at the beginning of 2011 and almost immediately began making changes. Firstly with an Evo IX engine and Hydra ECU swap which was closely followed by a remap and a bunch of moderate styling mods.

On completion of which I had the car looking like this:

(I know the photos kinda suck but hopefully l make up for it later on)

To cut a long story short I took the car off the road after just 6months of ownership with the intentions to perform a complete rebuild with a budgeted turnaround period of 18months.

I'm now 17months through and, all things considering, progressing rather well with all the remaining work pencilled in for a summertime fire up/debut.

Ill let some pictures do the talking from here onwards.

That pretty much brings it up to date where the car is now having its engine stripped down and rebuilt by a local motorsport garage. From there the car will given the Widebody treatment before being treated to a fresh lick of paint.

I have a clear picture of how the car will look and perform once back together and it will be far from placid

    Regards
    Will

Thanks for the comments guys. I'll keep you posted with fresh pictures once the exciting work gets under-way which won't be long now.

Here's the new set of show & street wheels I've been waiting on for awhile now. Supplied by LSD Motorsports CA. I'm also in the market for a set of Enkei RPF1s 17x9j +22 but they're proving difficult to come by.
