I'm here. I was taken in by talk of S52 ITBs with gnarly CF trumpets.
Hmmm... about me...
I like long walks on the beach with bikini clad women, I think that stretch and poke is stupid (sorry, it is), I think suspension is for turning faster (and that slightly stiffer sways will net you more benefit than low and stiff shock/spring combos will) and engines are for making sweet sweet music at speeds that would make the Highway Patrol lock you up (which has happened to me before).
I like good looking cars and I certainly can respect good work. Not everybody in our community is in it to race around. Some people just like cars that are worth taking pictures of. That's cool with me. As long as you know what you're doing and why I have no problems with you whatsoever. Just don't tell me it's functional. We both know it's not.
When my car is worth taking pictures of again, I'll show it to you all. It's an 87 325is with a hand built frankenmotor S50. It was built out of bits from god knows how many engines and features a fully rebuilt M50NV head (dual valvesprings and tougher hydraulic tappets are among the benefits, allowing the head to withstand 8,000RPM as stock as tested by crazy swedish people) with some porting and valve grind work done to it, an M50TU block bored to fit my pistons VERY snugly (by a machinist who builds race V8s) and of course stock S50 important bits (cams, crank, rods, pistons, VANOS).
No, the stock bottom can't take 8k very long so I'm going to be limiting it to 7500 but that's still 500 more than S52s get so :-P.
As for the rest of the car, it's a restoration project. It should be maturing very rapidly in the near future. Bilstein Sport shocks, IE progressive springs, IE sways, BBS RS replicas (YES, REPLICAS) in 16x7.5 with 225/45/16 KDW2s, urethane bushings galore, diff, front and rear strut braces (rear mason engineering with the diff reinforcement) etc, etc.
Looking to have a fun little sleeper car. If it has any stance at all, it will be completely by accident. But if any of you guys want to take pictures, I'll be proud.
