  • Me and my MX63 Cressida

I picked up this MX63 (1983) Cressida the other day for a bargain. Plans currently include an NA-T 2JZ, w58, slammed, some Rotas for now, and redoing the interior as well as doing a few things to the exterior
    My car

One of the wheel styles I am looking at

    Plans for the rear end

And I am working on getting and installing a Datsun 720 pickup front bumper to replace the stock park bench

In my eyes, I would rather spend money on performance before i buy some expensive "legit" wheels. Getting some paper weights to look better than stockies while gettin' some power never hurts!

Good luck also! Cressidas are one of my favorites.

Thanks for the comments, as far as the Rotas are concerned I have been searching for some nice used JDM wheels in a similar size to the Rotas but pickings are very slim. As for the motor I doubt I will have any kind of start on even parts gathering for at least 6 months as I am in culinary school and have 2 kids. All of the build will be done on a budget with either used parts or some inexpensive parts. I am starting to gather parts for the 5 speed swap, I still have most of it to get but I do have a M series to W series bell housing so any W series trans I find should work. Also going to be headed to the junk yard here in a couple weeks to look for a bunch of parts like an LSD and some kind of front lip and a rear ducktail

I am from Spokane Wa. I have been keeping an eye on craigslist for some cool wheels as well as looking everywhere else online for some cool wheels. Some starion wheelsbwould be pretty cool but they are pretty rare where I am

Very nice cressida, the car looks very solid to start with.

Nothing wrong with rotas, ive rolled on them many times.

check out jzxproject they might be ass holes sometimes but you can find anything about cressidas there.

Yeah I lurk like crazy on jzxp, there is a little bit of good info over there although jnc seems to have just as much and the members are not douche-waffles lol. I am okay with Rotas but obviously given the option some real old school jdm hotness would be better. I need to start a bull thread as it seems like I will have some spare cash to start working on get car here soon

Dude, those would be sick but I am only budgeting ~$1000 for wheels and tires. Good looking setup though

Thanks seems to be a good group of guys on here. Trying to figure out how to get some flare on the rear fenders, I may end up cutting up some ZG flares to fit and give the car a bit more aggressive look. Also looking for front and rear duckbill spoilers to complete the oldschool look of the car.
