  • I'm pursuing the Z dream.

    Whats up, STANCEWORKS
I'm pretty new to Stanceworks, just been lurking around for a couple of months, was going to post my z31 but I decided to rather post the 280 will be more interesting for the time being.
I'm 20 and my name is Marcos, and a student at UTI
I fell in love with the stance scene when i first learned about it. Well I've always loved lowered cars. (mini trucks, lowriders, bagged dulleys etc..)
Little back story to the 280zx, My dad bought it off of an ex-coworker, and the guy told him if he could get it running that he could have it for $25. So my dad a mechanic with many years of experience did some work on it, turned some wrenches, poured some oil, replaced filters. Enough to get that sucker out of there and running on its own 4 wheels. So about a couple of hours spread out into a week, we had ourselves a Datsun. (with no title )

Heres some pictures of my canvas, that has seen better days. The body is very straight.

Please pay no attention to the huge R and lettering, my dad put that, thinking it would be nice. Will be removed eventually.
    Ay adds ten horsepower.

And the horribly horrible interior, looks like a tiger was let loose in that thing.

Thanks, and criticism is gladly taken

Haha I like the challenge, get it running and it's $25... Definitely can make this car look awesome; it looks like you have a good project on your hands as well. Can't wait to see what you do with it.

Yeah, I've been searching around to give me some ideas, on where I should start it at.
I'm currently doing body work, to get rid of all the body rust, and have it at least one whole color, and hopefully paint it to the original color (like a golden color)

I was like 14 or so, actually when it happened. All I remember was him turning it on, after a couple of visits, to where it was located. Its was parked like a year after that, and not turned on for like 4 years until the other day, I have a video that ill post later.

I traded my 1992 f-150 flare side for it. At first he didn't want to, but one day he was drunk, I guess he was like "what the hell, lets trade" so I quickly jumped on it. Made him promise me he wouldn't get rid of the truck.

          Thanks for the welcome.

For sure, idk if I should wait until things really get rolling, or just make it a super long extremely slow build.?

The average person would think this is a basket case.. But to people like us....Meh, it looks pretty damn good

But wtf is with the interior. How does that even happen to cars?

I certainly will. I know it'll take me on a bumpy ride, but well worth the while.

I couldn't agree more on that one. 80's nostalgia vehicles it where its at.

So true, the average person would of salvaged it already.
It sure does look pretty damn good doesn't it.

I asked my self the same exact question, and well i'm pretty sure it was left out in the sun to rot. With the windows closed for many years. Which really suuuucks. Because parts for this thing are rear and expensive. And hard to come by in good condition.
