  • Trapped in 1985

Just got out a long term relationship with my e30 r.i.p. she was taken from me a couple weeks ago on a small canyon road. Some douchebag driver attempted to over take on a turn & turned into my rear quarter panel causing my to spin out & slam into the mountain.

Luckily I escaped unscathed other than some seatbelt rash, but the car is a total loss. I'll leave that as a "closed casket" affair.

    A little backround I guess:
    1st owner
    Delphin-grey
    85' e30 318i M10 powered (favorite motor) ****** gon ****
Bone stock other than fresh shocks & custom v stack - 6in filter
    Pfeba Lip
    Zender Skirts & Wing
    Recent Euro Bump Swap

Sadly only a handful of pics with the euros on, but that ship has sailed & onto the next one.

    Backround:
    Blue Green / Tan Interior
    85' w201 190D 2.2
    177k ish miles on odo
    Autotragic
Swapping to late model bumpers & cladding
    Custom Lip
Custom 2 tone "Olive" on Blue Green

Teaser. Well only pic I have.

    Plans:
    Bagged?
    5-speed?
    Wheels?
    300e front brakes
    Nardi wood?

Don't know where I'm going with this car, but I can already tell its going to be my new favorite.

I even dig the NaM sealed beams & yellow fogs. So Euros can wait.

First look I'm going for is probably slammed on evo 1 wheels.
Next phase is some sort of monoblocks

Help me out guys. I'm in need of direction!

Thx man. Not the way I pictured getting dropped into the 190 scene, but it is what it is. Looking forward to get some real work done on it.

What's up Pare, sorry to hear about your car. I remember reading about the memories you had of it on r3v.

The 190 could be sweet though. They're tough to get low properly (not cutting the springs), but if you can do it it could be awesome. Especially with the diesel. I vote for some wide period correct 16's and a big drop.

Thx bro. Seems not to be a good year for e30s. In SoCal anyways. I've had my fun in the bm guess it was just time to move on. I've vowed e30 m3 or bust. No point returning to the game in a stock body & doing it all over agian.

As for the w201 I'm a bit at a loss. Indeed getting low is a challenge. Wheel fitment & options r also an issue. Between 16-17in is a toss up. This being my daily bagged will probably be the answer.

The scene being so dead though is another battle in itself as the market is super limited. It's like the e30 game all over again when everyone rocked springs & the only coil options were billy/gc/ast.

Haven't been around for a while, but finally got workin on the benz. She's sittin a little sad, but she coming along.

Diesel is up & running just need to button up all the loose ends. Got some wheels I'm working on & still need tires, but test fit shows lot of fender work is in my future. As for suspension I'm still working out the kinks. As in strut travel & ride height.

                  Anyways here's a pic

Rolled it out for a little shakedown.. Seems to be pretty much buttoned up now. Far from complete. Interior is still gutted.

                        Centra Type 31. 16x8 +11

had to space/roll/cut the front fenders to make up for the lack of budget camber plates....

current tire is a 205/40 front 205/45 rear.. the front just isnt right for me probably going to change to a 195/45

& yes the wheels are slightly concave
