  • Let's try this again, Hi from Pittsburgh

    Hey guys,

I've tried an intro before, failed hard at getting pics. Hopefully I can do it better this time. I've crept around for a while. I'd like to make friends

I drive a 2002 Saturn Sc2, 104k on the clock (put the last 77k on myself). I bought this car when I was 15 years old from my old man. I worked hella hard to scrape up the cash (he cut me a deal in the end). The car has a history of being riced (F&F style), if you want to know the history on that nonsense just ask .

Right now I try to keep it clean. It came with 18's, I bought cheap 15x6's for it so I didn't look hood.

The shortest mod list you will ever see:

Custom intake piping w/ K&N filter
    Custom stainless side exit exhaust
Old lowering springs (theyre purple, I'd love help identifiying them)
    15' no name wheels.
Wing (no clue of the maker, I've been told many things)
    Shaved front and side badges

This car is my life. And I wouldn't change that for anything.

Really didn't have the cash to do anything with the car besides make the payment. It stayed like this minus the exhaust for a while. I enlisted in the Air Force and finally have the means to follow through with my plans for it.

I've grown highly attached to this car. And by highly, I mean sickening. I love this car more than anything. It's always been a good car, never broken down, and never had an issue. I get compliments daily, even from guys with generally more popular platforms. It's really been a blast to own these past 4 years.

I'm in college right now, and serving reserve status in Pittsburgh, PA. College has really put a damper on this build for me, but I'm in it for the long run this won't be a car I'm selling. I've decided that this is an owning experience I will have for life. You know you will never sell a car when you have them means to buy other things and simply can't part with what you currently have. And you know you love a car when you emotionally are torn because you haven't driven it that day.

I wanted to keep my plans for this on the down low for a while, but I think I could benefit from the guidance of those who may have ventured down the road not taken before as far as builds. Some of the builds I see on here are truely one of a kind.

    Here we go:

BBS RS001's (or others that were originally drilled to 4x100, no redrill) 15x7. Polished.

Autopilot V2 air management from Accuair

    Universal Airlift strut bags

Call me crazy, but come summer, I could use some help with the air install

As for now, if you come across wheels meeting these dimensions, please let me know. I am in the market (more like on Google and forums though).

Time to close this thread, thanks for the look guys! Feel free to add me on Facebook, Flickr, or shoot me a PM here just to say whats up. Looking forward to being a part of this community of fellow enthusiasts.

Do it man! There are a couple pretty sick Cavs around on this forum, there's a nice on sawblades. There's also another super clean orange Saturn as well, on gold wheels. Not sure on what they are, ive put a PM into him though he has pretty good fitment only on springs, so I need those wheel sizes for sure!

Actually, this car is a Z body, sharing that only with the Chevy Corvair (of all things right?)

Thanks for compliments on it though, very appreciated!

Sweeeeet! Another Saturn! Lol looks great, it's in nice condition. You forgot shaved badges.

Personally for wheels I would recommend 8" wide for the back, possibly the front to. Not sure how much clearance is up front tho. I have an sl2 and 8" rears fills it out nicely. Also I'd get rid of the side exit exhaust, it'll catch on everything I'd you air it out, or it'll get crushed haha.

Looking forward to what you do with it!

            Thanks man!

I test fit a set of 16x8 rs's a couple weeks ago, had some clearance issues even in the back. :/ current wheels are only 15x6. I also have been looking at work Meister 's, and emotion 11r's

Im thinking of just going with Eibach Sportlines to begin with and to keep it a DD. I dont know what rims yet though any suggestions? May have to go with some cheaper ones since Im a senior in high school and about to go to college and tight on money right now.
Ive seen the cav your talking about on google i think.

Hey man, been there done high school. Like I said, I've had this car for 4 years, so I had it all through high school. With the fart can that came on it save what you can up and buy some wheels you'll really be happy with

That being said, XXR, Rota, etc make some pretty nice looking wheels for cheap. like, $550 for 4 wheels. Right now I'm trying to buy something baller myself, but I'm blessed with a good job. Honestly, don't ever let somebody tell you that your car isn't worth putting money into though. If you love what you're doing, then keep doing it. too many people in the scene try to fit in....it's kind of a shame that nobody dreams anymore.

Also, if you're tight on money, and willing to take 7 months off of your life, i would join the military as a reservist. I did, and i'm getting money for school as well as a retirement and a garunteed job. it's not for everybody, but i can definitely give you more info if it would ever be something you're interested in. It changed my life, for the better

Im looking at Enkeis now and like i said im saving and trying to find a job which where i live is hard to find unfortunately. And thats why I bought the cav really. I could have bought a civic for about the same price but I knew Id eventually want to do something with whatever I bought so I decided to go with it since every other stanced car i see is a civic. What I hear a lot though is its still a cavalier and shit like that. I mean theres really not much difference between a cavalier in a civic in my opinion. Ive seen civics that have way more problems than some cavaliers and some cavaliers that are beat to shit.

I feel you dude, I had to hustle hard to finish paying off my car when I was your age. And I could barely do that. 3 jobs over my summer breaks, 1 in school, it's rough. Working fast food and for minimum wage isn't fun. But you gotta do what you gotta do, you'll find a job soon. Just apply EVERYWHERE and be open to anything. Money is still green, no matter where you obtain it from.

As for ******, don't let that get to you. I get **** on here, Facebook, car meets, Flickr, etc. If you can sit in your car, start it up, and drive off with a smile/feeling happy, you're good to go. If what you're doing makes you happy, fuck other people.

Chevy/GM make good cars, don't let anybody tell you otherwise. My car has taken a beating from me learning to drive, and learning to drive manual on it. 104k and NO issues. You're Cav get's great gas mileage, probably has a bigger motor than the average Civic, and is just as reliable. I think it's a sweet idea honestly, like I said before, I'vve seen them done up and they pull it off well. Enkei makes some good stuff, don't forget you can buy used wheels too that are perhaps in your price range. Just beware of redrills, sometimes they aren't done right.
