Greetings fellow low car enthusiast! My name is Conner, I'm from Bend OR, and I drive a 1991 Volkswagen Golf GTI VR6. I've been cruising around the forums for some time and finally decided to join the partay! I was first introduced to the car word at age 14 when I bought my first car, a1997 VW Golf with a good ol' 2.0.

After owning the car for a while I decided it was time for something else, at first I really wanted a MK1 (and i still do haha). After looking for a couple weeks a VR6 swapped MK2 popped up near by, I had always dreamed of owning a VR so I went to check it out. The moment I stepped on that gas petal and heard the sweet purr she made, I was sold!

I ended up buying to car for a total of $2750, only having 105K on the motor and tranny, with minimal cosmetic issues, damn stoked I was. It sat on a set of 15" BBS RZ's, with Neuspeed springs to give it about a 1.5 inch drop. It also had a few performance parts including: Custom made intake manifold, Neuspeed chip, Techtonics tuning exhaust, and a Borla muffler.

As soon as I had the money saved up, I purchased a full set of Solo-Werks coilovers.

Now that she had came down a bit, it was time for some new shoes. I've always been big a fan of Borbet Type A's, but they were just a little bit out of my price range. I ended up purchasing a set of 15x8 ESM 009's. The wheels didn't quite clear the GLX brakes so 25mm spacers all around it was.

Here are some more recent pictures, and some at Pacific Waterland the other weekend.

Looks it pokes too much in the front. Rear fits nicely.

Thank you much. I wish they were legit Type A's! They're ESM 009's

Nice mk2 man, I do agree that the fronts poke a bit much but other than that it's pretty spot on

Thanks! The original plan wasn't to run that much poke, i didn't think to check if the wheel fit over my brake before purchasing and mounting the wheel. I needed about an inch more to clear the brakes, and figured spacers was the best solution. At first i really didn't dig the mad poke, still kinda don't. It's starting to grow on me now though A set of g60 flares would do it some justice i think.

Once i have some extra money i'll try and search out a set, for now the 10 dollar specials at u-pull-it will have to make do.
