    Ewww...winter mode

Raised it about an inch and a half all around and put the steelies w/eBay special hubcaps

Plans for next season are possibly 20th anniversary body kit, fender work, and smaller tires or possibly new wheels in general. Getting so much snow in the Chicagoland area is a love/**** relationship . Who knows..maybe this year we won't have any snow at all and it'll just be balls cold

Those hubcaps are really similar to the ones on older model Corolla's hahaha.

Sorry man, didn't mean the title to be too misleading.. It is a 2.0 with a 4 speed automatic, so it is loads slower than the 740

Clean golf man, I've been thinking about picking up a Mk4 for awhile now. Im pretty set on trying to a find a VR6 /6spd. Not sure about the reliability issues on the 1.8t's and i definitely don't want a 2.slow.

Your's is really clean, only thing i could suggest is painting the front/rear lower valences, IMO would look cleaner, im just not a fan of black lips or not matched valences, either way it's still hella clean! nice Golf!

1.8T's and VR's each have their own advantages and disadvantages. The main problem with 1.8T's is that their timing belts are prone to snapping. That's usually because no one bothers doing the maintenance every 70k miles to replace them.

Thanks man. There's a few dings and scratches here and there that I wish didn't exist, but it could be worse haha. I'm actually thinking of getting a 20th anniversary body kit and having them color matched to my car. That'll get done in the summer though, not enough time and money to do that sort of stuff in winter :P

                Small update:

Bought a 20th anniversary valance/bumper spoiler, whatever you want to call it :P Here's a pic of what it looks like for those of you who don't know:

That will get painted to match the color of the car and I'll probably paint the rear valance to match. Other than that, I'm really missing the warmer weather and being low This winter sucks so far for Chicago, we have hardly had any snow and I want the car to sit on the ground again

EDIT: My dad bought a cement grinder thing so maybe I'll be able to cut the entrance bump of my driveway down some. I'll get a pic of the driveway entrance when I get a chance sometime tomorrow

Paint match that side trim then it will look mad tyte eudm. No, but seriously it would make it look less like an economy car.

I like how low it is. Maybe you should throw it on some oem nissan truck wheels o:

The trim used to be silver, but it was chipped in places so I decided to try spraying it black. I may go back to silver, I'll have to see what it will all look like when it's done. Either that or paint the lip black, but I don't think it will look too great that way.

I'd run those wheels, but it depends on how wide they are hahaha. I'd have to be REALLY low to pull it off though. I still have to do some fender work in the spring to keep my 7.5's from rubbing on turns

EDIT: I found this pic through Google search.

Granted that I have headlights with black housings, the black accents shouldn't look too bad. I guess I'm just trying to make up excuses cuz I don't want to either A) tape everything off, or B) take them of to paint.

Sorry for the lame update, but I decided to lower my car back down assuming that we won't have a good amount of snowfall that would prohibit me from driving around. Also took the hood bra off. My friends and I also decided to go for a quick photoshoot in 9 degree weather....that was fun. Needless to say the tripod was a bit crooked to the side so the horizon might look off, plus I didn't have too much time to mess around with settings and angles as my hands were that close to getting frostbite.

Anyways, on to to some pictures:

                      The Brygada

I'm still waiting on that lip to come in. Hopefully it will be in this week, but I wouldn't be surprised if it takes longer.

Cheers, hope y'all are having a nice week.

************EDIT: Finally got the lip in. I tried putting it on yesterday, but it was a total b*tch. My friends and I tried cutting parts of the lower bumper to make it fit, but all that we came away with was me cutting my finger with a saw-saw. We gave up and tried to put the stock lip back on, but that doesn't even sit like it used to now. After throwing the bumper back on the car, we moved on to the grill...and while trying to put the hood latch release on we broke it.

In summary: the day went from bad to worse. We didn't use a heat gun to stretch the lip or anything, but is a heat gun really necessary? We were thinking of drilling some holes in the bumper and lip in order to slide zip ties through as a temporary fix.

Got the lip put on Friday afternoon. As you can see in the crappy cell phone pic, the sides don't exactly match up (there's about a 1in. gap). Bodywork will be done on the lip in the spring when it gets warmer out, and it will most likely get sprayed silver to match the rest of the car, but that is yet undetermined.

I still have to clean the interior and spray some interior parts because I'm not the biggest fan of chrome Anyways, bigger updates and stuff to come when it gets warm out
