Evening all,

Not a huge update really just more maintenance which shall be the case until I think it will be ready for fun stuff . Today I picked up my new fuel filter and Gates Alternator belt, plan is to fit these tomorrow along with (FINALLY) my other amber corner lamp Woo Hoo.





I decided I would fit my new Meyle HD top mounts this afternoon and whilst I was there I was going to fit my Eibach rear springs and Eibach ARB but I decided to hold off until I had new rear drop links which I shall pick up tomorrow along with standard rear discs. Once I have these I shall tackle the lot and install the EBC greens.

With the rear partially stripped it really does make everything very easy the rear wheels I think were last put on by the HULK's mother and even when the wheel studs were loose and off the wheel took a lot of beating to get off the hub so they got a greasing before they were put back on.

The other reason i didn't get stuck into rear springs etc. this afternoon!!!!




The rain arrived late this avo and hasn't stopped since, will be interesting to see if my leak in the boot returns!!! After looking at the weather it doesn't look good for tomorrow which is a pisser as I was hoping to get the rear springs ,arb links, discs, fuel filter, Alt belt and pads on, guess we'll just have to see what happens. I also want to look over my power steering system also as it feels a little stiff at times etc. so will check this out too. Wheel bearings a must at this stage also so think that'll be next task along with water pump and thermo.

Woo Hoooooo, my car is a pieball no longer

Hi to all, well there was a lot I wanted to get done today however the weather just wasn't on my side at all. So only a small update as I picked up my Iridium plugs this afternoon and got them in as soon as I got home Happier now as I found the car instantly hesitant when I put in the ordinary Bosch super plus plugs.





This morning was a really nice one with sun shining and decent temperatures which instantly put me in the mood for some more maintenance and modding . First off was the old fuel filter which was an easy job, there is alot to be said for and in line fuel setup. Probably alot to be said against it too.

Whilst I was under there and had removed the plastic under tray somewhat I decided to find the rattle in my exhaust, didn't take too long as I saw the bracket that comes off the gearbox and clamps to the exhaust had rotten and come seperated. So I undid the offending item and pushed the remainder of the bracket out of the way for now as I did not want to hear it knocking off it. A new one hasw been ordered and shall be put on when I order a new system.

Another thing I noticed while I was under the car was a leaking propshaft seal at the back of the gear box, so a new seal has been ordered as the last thing I want or need is to have to get a gearbox for the car. Once this arrives in it will be the perfect time to do a gearbox flush and oil change so she is silky smooth again.

Once the new fuel filter was fitted I cracked on with a little test to see what way I wanted my fog lights as i am still undecided, I painted the drivers side one as this was already off the car. When it was dry I sat it into the bumper and took some snaps to mull over and see can I make a final decision.

The afternoon wasn't so sunny but none the less it was dry so was defo a good time to "make hay" as they say, so the rear got jacked up in the air as it was time to tackle the rear springs. With the help of Ollyman we had them out in no time at all, once out i set about sanding the tops and the bottoms, coating them in Ku-rust and leaving them for an hour to dry. While that was happening we did a little work to Ollyman's new Mtec front bumper but i'll let him tell all on that front.

One other thing that was bugging me a knocking coming from the car when i was driving it over our crappy surfaced roads, it sounded like it was coming from the exhaust, so with the car jacked up under i went and started to wiggle the muffler gently. Low and behold the knocking started from what seemed above my head at the muffler then sounded more like it was in the boot.......!!!!!!!!! It then dawned on me what that really f@*king annoying knocking was..... of late i had notice my fuel door wasn't tight when fully closed and had a little bit of play in it......YIPPEEEEEEEE FOUND IT . Upon inspection i realised the resistance in the setup was slackening so after milliseconds of thought i took the door off and turned the vertical bar upside down and replaced.....PROBLEM SORTED
