Hey guys, the names Sam, I'm 20 and own two vehicles which I would very much like to stance out. One is a Chevy Cobalt which is my second priority, the stuff they do on cobaltss.net with stances are pretty amazing and I fell in love with the stance look on there but I feel kinda limited with the potential of that car so I decided to devote all my money to my old Toyota pickup and keep the cobalt as my DD. Its an 86 pickup and in rough shape but I've recently started tearing it apart to rebuild. Basically I plan on replacing just about all of the body as it is in dire need, and I plan on dropping in a 1jz to replace the stock 22r motor. The ultimate goal of this build is to drift the truck and in doing so I need a new suspension which I want to fab an irs with coilovers. The problem issssss, this is my first project like the title says, I really have no previous mechanical skills but I am now a member of a slew of forums and have been doing research into this project for over a year now. I am still stuck on the suspension though which is why I'm here! I've been through a thread started about stanced trucks on here but it was basically just pictures of their actual stance and I was wondering if anyone had any advice and/or threads to basically show how they set their suspensions up. I haven't looked through the search feature yet so forgive me for asking straight up, I'll go search in a bit but first I just kind of wanted to give everyone an insight into what I hopefully plan on doing eventually. ALSO I know it's a big project for my first one but hey, go big or go home
thanks guys, glad to be here!
