What's up guys? Name's AJ and I drive a 6sp 2000 B5 S4. I've been a follower of Stance Works for quite some time now, but only just now decided to join the forum. I'll let you know ahead of time that ALL of the pictures posted below were taken by me. Photography was one of the main reasons I was so drawn to this site. It's what I love to do in my free time.

I've had my current car for almost two years now and have only fallen more in love with it over time.
I originally bought it as a cheap car to flip and make some cash, but that I would also enjoy driving in and not be embarrassed of. I had originally intended on purchasing a '99.5 A4, which wasn't in great mechanical shape when I went to go look at it. Needless to say, I didn't end up actually purchasing that car, but it started my Audi craze. I started looking all over for A4's within my price range.
Eventually I found this S4 through craigslist for one hell of a steal. I was so young and uninformed about what I was about to do. I had bought a red Audi with black rims. That was my attraction. I've always had a love for cars as my father has probably owned around 200 cars within my lifetime. I knew all about tasteful looking (emphasis on looking) cars since I was very young. But what a car was aside from their looks was never important to me.
Anyways, the previous owner of the S4 had done more than ~$18k worth of work on it and it was Stage 1 (whatever that meant), which was insane for how little he let it go for, but I guess he needed the money quick. So I bought it right then and there.
The car was bucking/chugging pretty badly which the P.O. assured was something wrong with one of the catalytic converters. So came its first visit to the shop. Me, not knowing a thing about the way cars worked, had to have somebody else look at the problem I was having. Here came my first big bill and was also where I decided whether the car would become a quick flip or a long time investment. The fact that I'm writing this makes it obvious which option I chose.
I'll also note that once what I found out was called a "misfire" issue was settled I took the car for a ride up the interstate and OH MY FUCKING GOD that car was fast! I had never driven or let alone ridden in a car that was as fast as this car. This is where the real spark happened. I was in love with this car and the speed. The feeling I got when the turbos would kick in was unlike any feeling I'd ever had. (except one of course
)

Two years down the road I have a totally different outlook and understanding of the car. I did a lot of lurking on Audi forums, Audizine primarily. I went through all of the paperwork (receipts and such) included with the car and found out pretty much everything that was done with the car. Found that it had a Revo Technik Stage 1 flash done to the ECU, HIDs, an APR bipipe, a full samco hose kit, Forge 007 Diverter valves, & a big break kit.

As far as the P.O.'s ~$18k of maintenance on the car, I've spent probably about another $10k in repairs (mostly labor...). The only "performance" mods really being an RS4 clutch and a custom catback exhaust.
Now, as this is Stance Works, I'll reflect my views on stance and my S4. I LOVE the way some cars look stanced out all low, sucking pavement with insane camber and all, but not for my car. One day it will be low, but not enough that the fenders will even get close to the edge of my wheels. And no crazy camber for me. I think that the S4 (being a performance car with its biturbo V6) should be aggressive looking and it should be able to perform without the worry of bottoming out.
I won't ramble on too much more, but I believe the car is here to stay with me for my foreseeable future, as long as I can financially support it XD.

Future plans/dreams would be coilovers, a full GT28 setup, RS4 widebody, euro rear including trunk and bumper, some new wheels (looking at Hartmann RS4s, Rotiform SNA, Volk TE37, all in either gunmetal or black), full interior redone with new leather and black suede inserts where alcantara is usually placed, and quite a few more cosmetic and performance mods.
Hope you guys didn't get too bored trying to read all of that nonsense!
