  • New to stanceworks - stock Golf GTI VI owner

    Hi all

I am the proud owner of a Mark VI Golf GTI 3 door with DSG in Carbon Grey with Vienna leather interior. I have had the car for just over a year, since new, and am starting to think about making some subtle modifications to the car to 'make it my own'.

I normally would have been horrified if anyone had suggested modifying a car to me as the norm here in Scotland for this is awful looking Vauxhall Corsas and Citroen Saxos with baked bean tin exhausts and horrible sound systems in them.

There are a couple of things I'd really like to do to the car and was wondering if there were other people out there who had done similar and could point me in the right direction.

I'd really like to improve the level of trim in the interior by adding some leather to the dash if this is possible. I'd want this to be in keeping with the black leather upholstery I already have - has anyone ever done this? What was your experience?

I have 17" Monzas on the car and am looking at getting myself a set of satin black BBS CH 18s with the stainless steel rim to put on the car - these.

In addition to this I'd like to lower the car a little but not too much - I use the car as an every day commuter and cover around 100 miles each day on some bumpy roads - I wouldn't want to compromise the ride or handling of the car as I am into driving first and appearance second.

Any other advice on some classy, subtle mods that can be done to a Mark VI GTI would be most welcome.

    Kind regards

    Daniel

That looks really nice - very similar to mine (same colour etc). It looks pretty good on 20s I have to say. I'm now wondering whether black wheels might not work with the carbon grey - the bright silver does look really good.

Thanks guys - I've been looking around this site and have come up with a few ideas for the car - just waiting to get some prices for things before I get started.

18"s are the perfect setup on mk6s. 19"s can look okay, but those 20"s look silly. that car is like 6" above grass.
