Hi all,
I've been lurking on here for awhile now so I figured I should finally introduce myself. My name is Joe, and I have a MKV GTI. Here she is in all of her stock glory -
My history:
My first car worth mentioning, a 2003 Subaru WRX Wagon - Fully bolted, VF34 turbo, all supporting mods, ran low 13's in the quarter (I realize how slow that is now, but back then I was like )
Traded the wagon for a 2006 Nissan 350Z:
I had gotten into auto-x at the time, so this got some suspension bits. It was fun, but I found myself drifting more than gripping. Good times, but it was a lease, so on to the next.
I bought a 2006 Civic EX. Trying to be practical and cut down on my expenses, I figured this was the ticket. It was great on gas, but did nothing else for me.
I really missed AWD turbo, so I sprung for my next venture, a 2005 Subaru Legacy GT:
This was my favorite, as I really started getting into suspension/wheels. I made the awful mistake of having the car street tuned by some jackass that had no idea what he was doing, and soon the car started to shit itself. By this time, I needed reliable transportation, so I traded it for a 2007 Toyota Camry...
Yes, those are 19 inch Infiniti G coupe wheels. Even I can't explain what made me decide to do that...
Back to the GTI, I have plans for suspension, and wheels. Not really into performance/body stuff anymore, considering i'd really like to stay static and go low, so any money spent on front/rear/lowers would probably go to waste, and I need a reliable drive train, so Hipo mods are not in the cards.
My wife and I recently moved into our first house, so this will have to be a practical (painfully slow) build.
I'm glad to be here, thanks for looking.
