  • Hello for the UK, Shakespeare country

New to the forum so thought I would say hi. Been looking at the site for a while but only just registered. I'm Tim (username gives it away really ) from near enough Stratford-Upon-Avon. I'm currently driving a 2000 BMW E46 323. I've had it for 3 years now and only just doing major ish work for it now. Currently I've fitted number plate surrounds and pressed plates (not that major), replaced the OEM stereo and fitted some Lowtec coilovers. I've also picked up some BBS RC041 and RC042 BMW E36 328 sport alloys which I'm currently refurbishing.

Few pics below as I know that's what it's all about. I may start a build thread as there's a fair few pics

So this is how it sat when I first picked it up

    And after the slight decking

Forgot about pics of the summer wheels. Doh
Now everyone in the UK go for either black, silver, grey or white centres, that's fine and dandy but I want something a little different. The colour is a BMW Individual Mora Metalllic

    So started off like this

    And then to this

        Cheers Jason.

I know it's nothing to be compared to most of not all cars on here. But I'd like to think that's it's ganna be a nice subtle OEM+ project

Cheers guys. Will be sure to check the UK section out, hadn't made it that far down the site until you pointed it out

Can't wait to get the summer shoes on, just one barrel to finish and then assembly time, after the polish and poor boys wheel sealant is applied urgh

Thanks man. I must admit I got the centres done by a pro as I wanted the finish to be spot on and also wanted them baked. I'll take nasty as a good thing I think cheers

I'm actually that far from Leamington. I'm actually Wellesbourne, but put Stratford down as I thought more people would of heard of that.

To be honest I'm well chucked how they've come out. After they were acid dipped I found out they'd been shot blasted at some point so I've spend hours on sanding the barrels to get through the pitting, and I mean hours!!! Still worth it in the long run

How old are you Tim if you dont mind me asking? My bro Robert Weller used to live in Wellesbourne so didnt know if you knew of him? Went to Kineton High. Now lives in Leamington for past 5 or so years.

No worries, pros are needed sometimes. BTW I meant nasty as a bad thing saying the wheels before you did them (clear over the lips and stock finish) looked gross compared their current statis.

Plus being an individual colour it's not an 'off he shelf' rattle can. Ah get you, my bad. I though you meant the new finsh was nasty, as in "there sick" or "there bad"

Yeah they were truely nasty but the more desired staggered fitment and were a mile away from my house so couldn't resist a project. Some numpty had also taken the centre cap off with what I can only guess to be mole grips leaving some nice marks to sand through. They had been refurbed before but weren't split before paint

                              One method I tried:

Stamped through one centre to split it and split one of the stuben fronts using the above method.

By the way - Not my pikey wagon in the picture
