  • hello for SoCal

well i guess i have lingered here long enough to post my ride. she is dirty & beat up, but for a broke college kid i am happy to have a running e30.
    1986 BMW 327es
    JOM coil-overs
custom oil pan, and exhaust skid plates
    custom splitter
-raised oil pan, exhaust, rear-sub frame ect...
    Before drop:

    After:

about 8 threads left to go down up front, and yes a need shorter springs for the rear. just don't have the money right now.
and some older pics: Mid drop

    Skid plate:

    Installed pics:

This not only protects the(raised) oil pan, but also the front sub-frame, steering rack, and sway bar. i didn't want to end up dragging over something and having part of my car catch and rip off. Plate is made of 1/8 inch mild steel.
    Front splitter:

Yes I'm on r3v. The plate has no re-enforcement as of yet. But she has held up fine to daily punishment.I plan on adding V braces down the length of it, and possibly gussets where the bend in the plate is.

          Thanks for the replies guys

well, sort of an update: being low and dragging has allowed me to break the welds from my headers all the way around and causing a huge exhaust leak. so me and my bro went about fixing the problem and adding some armor.

when i pulled the exhaust out it fell into two pieces! haha

had to remove the badly scraped heat shields to get to the actual pipe.

and these are the steel plates we added, not gonna rip a hole in my exhaust again!

Other skid plates previously on exhaust. this is where the exhaust goes under the rear sub frame.
