  • New to STANCE -Sacramento

Well hello to everybody out in the land of Stance.

Let this be my introduction to you all.

My name is Sutton and live just south of Sacramento on the River Delta amongst fruit orchards and corn fields where tractors and big trucks rule the town. -Well that is not me.

I came across Stance works while on a quest to find coilovers for a e28 that I bought a few months back and have been using it as my daliy driver and it desperately needs to loose a foot of height and some wheels. Prior to finding this site I had obtained a set of AC Schnitzer wheels, but now I am going to go with some C4 Corvette saw blades.

Thanks Stance Works now I am a addict!

Over the past years I have owned well over 100 cars probbly close to 200 but I stopped counting or taking pictures of them a few years ago. Sometimes I sit and work and as I am looking out of the window watching the world go by I realize the car that I am admiring is one that I once owned. Or better yet buying the same car two or three times over...

As I sit here and write this I reflect on the cars I have owned modified and goten speeding tickets in. In high school I drove a 1973 911 and with a 3.0 in it and bottle of nitrous that I installed. At the sametime I owned a e12 and a 1966 El camino. The El Camino was infamous for about four years as friends would come over see the progress in my driveway then go tell their friends about the monster in my drive way... By the time it made it to the open road it was more of a myth, years later people come up to me and talk about it. As they talk about as if it is now a legend.

I have a list of others that I have tucked into my garage and at my shop some that I owned for 16 years and under verious stages in there life.

Currently I own about 11 cars non of them "Stanced" (yet), but this will change with time.

    1987 535 e28:

The first car I will focus on will be the e28 do to that I drive it almost everyday to and from work.

    2004 A6 avant:

After I am done with the e28 I will do my A6 avant - Most likly something simple: Bags and a set of green Rotiform wheels and that is about it.

    1986 Vw Cabriolet

The AC Schnitzer wheels will be fitted to my Beach Bomber a '86 Vw Cabriolet.

    1988 M3

My favoite car that I own is my 1988 M3. This car has not left my garage in over three years and quite frankly is not the prettiest specimen of e30 M3's as the paint is wasted, the engine is tired, and the leather is old and cracked from many years of being neglected and sitting in the sun in a lot for many years. - One day I will decide what direction I would like to go with it. Until then it sits.

    1992 500E

In my opinion these may be one of the greatest cars ever produced. Mine I bought with 80k miles now it is well over 200k and ready for refreshing, I have bought two others looking to replace it but the old bird with 200k miles drives better then the lesser milage cars so it has earned its strips and is tucked nicly in the corner of my garage and six inches of dust.

    1973 E9 3.0cs

This is the second E9 that I have owned. My first I bought from my uncle that he took down to nothing and painted white then reassembled. I bought it from him and a fair price took it back apart put me e12 motor and 5 speed with twin turbos in it. All wood and interior was redone and sold to a good friend for at yet a very nice price for what went into it. -I am planning on recreating a twin again as it is missed.

    1979 Rabbit / Golf

Bought this car for $150. Its a diesel but has lost its timming belt so motor is gone. Bought it for the vin number. At the same time that I bought this car I was working at a euro wrecking yard and bought a Audi TT complete car for the running gear for ither the Rabbit or the Cab.

    1966 El Camino

This car has been a myth a legend and many other things. Currently this been stripped down to the metal as I am welding in fresh metal. I put together a Big Block with the biggest cams and valves that are still streetable that I could find. A matte paint job and white walls with air bags this time around.

    1965 Mini

Bought this gem from a friend of mine at local wrecking yard. Spent about $ 1k rebuilding the head on it and Christmas day using my alignment rack as a frame machane pulling trunk from the back set.

For those who want to check back later I will post pictures.

I would be down to meet up in Sac sometime. I live in the Delta but work downtown so anytime.

I will get pictures as soon as I have some time to snap 'em. I have a subframe to pull out of a s80 tonight so I'll be at the shop tonight and take some pictures of my mini
