  • Baby Tundra from SFL

    Hi everybody,
My name is Clement, I'm from France but I have been living in South Florida since 2006.
I own a 2010 Scion xB and I have been working a frontend conversion for it since early this year. I am hoping I will be able to open a shop pretty soon to start producing them.
I am a full time engineer so I dedicate most of my free time to the car and my Family.
I am finishing the paint work this week for an upcoming show in Jacksonville on Nov. 11 and I might also show up at Simply Clean III if I get done quick enough.
When I got the car I got myself a set of 5Zigen Heidfeld 18x7.5 that I custom painted but later I dropped the idea and went another way.
As of right now the car is in Mexiflush mode lol. 16x8 -25offset and I will have fender flares covering these nasty rubber sticking out.
Here are couple pictures: from when I got the car to now.

This following picture is the actual plug I made. It's right about 120lbs of Bondo, foamcore and steel This is the part I used to make the final mold. (had to post thumbnail to not molest everyone's screen with huge pictures)

Here it is sitting on the stand.

    Quick Fitment test:

    More fiberglass:

    New latch plate:

And first piece out of the mold:

Paintwork should be done this week and I will have to come up with a new grill as well.
I am going to start on the flare as soon as I'm done with all this but it might be too short to have them done for any of the shows I was talking about earlier.
    Thanks for reading.

        Definitely different.

Being a 1st gen owner, I never really liked the front of the 2nd gen. Good for you, to want to change that up a bit. Other than the grill and flares, what's next?

You can click on the picture for the full size.
I didn't copy the full size because they would be huge.

Well eventually coil overs because right now it is sitting sky high, and I have an idea of lip kit and diffuser that would go along pretty nice.
I'm feeling the Baja buggy look coming lol.

I was expecting something awesome from the Tundra side of things.

                Le disappoint.

Sorry about that buddy what were you expecting, if I may ask?
Now back to Okin, I would love to, plus it's way more functional than coil in the long run.
It is my daily vehicle after all.
I am going to look into it when I get done with all the body mods.

Ever think of putting the iForce V8 in there?

I love the wheels, but you need a meatier tire IMO. Those tires look awfully skinny in contrast to the wheels/fender gap. But you're on the right track.

Yes I did. My parents both owns sequoias with the 5.7 and they are beasts. Mobil 1 did a concept car like this with RWD and all but I'm a one man shop so it isn't the same kind of budget. Rogue status also did the 2jz swap which was pretty awesome too. The other swap I thought of would be a ls7 or a camry nascar crate engine. I mean there is plenty space now since the hood is raised

However, those cars had some serious custom work (especially the R.S. 2JZ) where their firewalls and interiors were completely overhauled to accommodate those motors.
