  • E36 M3 Sedan (Hello) & (Questions?)

    Hello Everyone,
My name is Shawn & I live in Southern California. I've had my E36M for just about a year now and about five months ago, A tragedy had happened, The Story is below :

One night coming back from a friends house I was driving on the freeway and was just about to get off on my exit. All of the sudden this Pontiac Firebird gets right next to me and starts to rev his engine ,So of course I ignore him and proceed to get over to get off the freeway, before I could even do that, I hear him revving his engine more and than "Boom!"..I'm hit.I slide two lanes over and I start to loose control of my car. This is the first actual accident I've been in where I am in control of the car, and as the rain pours harder and harder, I'm just so in shock on what I should do. (Don't even ask what I did while I spun out), but one thing I did do, thankfully, was not hit anything. I didn't hit any dividers or cars, nor did I flip over. (As I am pretty surprised that's all that happened).

When I stopped spinning out of control, my car faces oncoming traffic. As they just sit there, all I see our bright lights. No one is coming towards me as I was still in shock, I didn't realize much and just drove off the freeway like everything was okay. Unfortunately, the person in the Firebird, drove off.Hit and run accident, great.

As I took the car to my mechanic, a few days after, I found out my frame was just bent a little (fixable), as I fixed it and all I needed now was :
*New suspension set up. (Since two of my shocks blew out and a spring broke)

*New wheels set up. (Since I drove off the freeway, I later realized I was riding on just a wheel,no tire. The tire popped while I was spinning out & my other wheel was majorly scratched up <- no fixing what so ever)

    *New front bumper.(Split in half)

    *New headlights. (Broke)

    *New left front fender (Damaged)

& some rear quarter panel (Damaged) to be fixed.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    As for everyone,
I walked away with no bruises, no broken bones or scratches. I just had to go to the Chiropractor for a few months. Thankfully I am still alive, as for this introduction,

Today I am picking up myself.
    *OEM Front Bumper (No Replica)
    *OEM Front Fender

I already picked up, five (5) 17" BBS Style 5 Wheels (17x8) and as for not thinking clearly that day, I am left with five extra tires (235/45/17 with 80% Thread still).
I wasn't sure what to choose 205/40/17 or 215/40/17?Which would you prefer?

    & As for Suspension,
I've reviewed a lot recently and I think I'm going to go with BC Racing Coilovers.

    Just another quick question,
Besides stretching tires, installing Coils, what else do I need to "Stance" my ride out?

    Thanks everyone,
Hope to hear some feedback (& No A^^hole comments, just tough love )

sorry to hear about the accident. that's ridiculous.

i'd go with 205/40-17's BTW and i'd roll the rear fenders.

Your best bet is to put a post up in the Builds section on here about your car and asking where would be the best place close to you that can supply and talk to you about the best set up for you or just look on line,im from the UK so i wouldent know where would be close to you good luck with it all
