  • Hello! I can fit my hand in my tire!

So I have been putting my introduction off for awhile. To busy with work or the kid. Well today I had an event that I thought would be worthy of an intro. I was driving my 1989 325is to work. I work on North Island in San Diego. I was driving over the Coronado bridge when I noticed the car didn't feel right and started seeing smoke from the rear end. Lucky I was at the beginning so I had a little room to pull over on. Got out and saw my driver side tire torn apart. I was given a three car police escort to safety off of the bridge. I knew my tires were bad but I didn't want to buy new ones because I just bought some O.Z. Futuras 16s 4x100. They should be here soon, I hope. Well got the spare on and made it home safe. Once I was home I noticed I could actually fit my hand into my tire. So hello to everyone! I am a total noob when it comes to stance. I love E30s the most but all cars are interesting to me. I hope to make some new friends on here and in the San Diego area!

Here are some pictures of my baby. Not much done yet but soon it will be changing.

        Welcome! I love E30s too

How old were those tires? Make sure you get an alignment once the new wheel and tires go on. Camber won't kill a tire nearly as much as toe. Some alignment shops will try to tell you camber destroys tires, but it's really toe that does it. Camber takes a long time to kill a tire.

The tires were pretty old. They have been on there through 3 deployments I have been on. I am going to a very trustworthy shop to have my tires mounted and alignment done. Thanks for the warm welcome!
