  • Irish Mk3 Volf

    Hello folks,

Just joined up and saying hello. I currently have an insurance an tax frienldly 1.4 golf, matt black, banded 14" vw steels with some stretch, vento front end, coilovers. I have some vr6 black leather on the way. She's a long way off complete and i'd like some CONSTRUCTIVE critisism. All helping pointers greatly appreciated.

    Here's some photo's,

    See you on the forum.

    Keith.

I think the shot is deceptive. The coils are wound down to the last (100mm) Its sitting on 14's with a 45 profile tyre. The wishbones are 1.3" off the floor. Unless i change for a mk3 vr6 splitter to give me an extra bit of depth to front bumper, Gti skirts and maybe a deeper rear lip i fail to see how i can go lower. All help apprecited here. And bags are out of the question.

@ jason, thank you for your welcome.

It NEEDs to go lower, or at least have a larger profile tyre fitted. Actually, I think the wheels are too small replace them with 15s.

Other than that, I like the front end but the paint job doesn't do much for me. I feel matt black is very 2009/2010 now, can you not get a proper respray on it?

How are things keith! Still have the passat? Lash up a few pics of it!

Maybe try a narrower higher profile tire to kill some of the arch gap?

Ha yeh, that was the moment i realise i had a nail in it.

@ Dave, no mate. I imported the steelies for her, and i was using pauls garage as storage. Then he let me go so i sold it, and the bmw. Kept the wheels and the roof rack, worth €100.

Desperate times = desperate measures and all that polava.

I won't be replacing the wheels, i'll be trying to figure a way round it. What size tyre would you guys think to eliminate my arch gap? And also how much stretch am i likly to lose?

@ jorge, The paint job is very 2009/2010 because it was painted during that time frame. Yes i could get a decent paint job, but that'd take the fun out of it for me.
