  • New from West Virginia

I'm TJ and as the title says I live in West Virginia the roads are terrible but I don't care I still love the looks of a low car. I decided to change up my daily driver/project car. The car is a work in progress and I just lowered it last week. Anyway here is some information on the car, It started life as a 1997 Pontiac Sunfire and at some point before i bought it there was a motor swap done and a Cavalier front end conversion that was done with hideous fiberglass parts that didn't flow at all so I am in the process of putting stock parts on it to smooth out the lines of the car, all that is left is the hood and that will be changed in the next month. Anyway here is a pic of how it looks now. It still needs spacers and paint, maybe some more low but it looks better now than it did before. Let me know what you think.

I have never seen a Cavi front done on a Sunfire. Interesting.

I have only seen a handful of front end swaps done online, but I have never seen another one in real life.

Well, I did some measuring the other day and decided that I am going to need some 1.5 inch spacers to make the rear look half way decent. After I get it wider I know I will have to roll and maybe stretch the rear fenders, and I will also probably need some camber shims but I will figure that out when I get there. I did a little mock up to get an idea of what it will look like, this is a little wider than 1.5 inches but it was as close as i could get everything to stay in place.

Slightly smaller tires in the rear and you should be able to air out just fine with some poke.

Nah, it's just the interior of your Passat.

                    OP.

Keep going. I'd like to see where this goes. I'm not a GM fan by any means, but sounds like you're on the right path by returning this thing to decency. GL.

I got my spacers and put them on, ended up with some poke and a whole lot of rubbing but it was nothing a little negative camber and a big hammer wouldn't fix. I also relocated my fuel filler to the trunk and shaved the door to where it was and just got done with filling in the antenna hole yesterday. The car is in pieces because after I'm done with the body work it is getting painted.
There is a completely stock version of my car parked in front of mine in this pic so you can almost see how much the rear tires tuck in on these things.

Rears poke too much for me! A little lower would've been better imo. What color are you gonna paint it?
