  • Newbie from Canada

Hi everyone, recently toured the site (to check out a friends build) and liked what I saw. My name is Matt, I live in Ontario Canada. I currently have a 1970 Volvo 144 as my summer daily driver and am about to start a restoration on a Volvo p1800.

I am looking for some kind of safe and reliable way to lower the 144. I am also thinking about running widened stock wheels on the car. Any suggestions would be most helpful. Cheers, Matt.

Don't mind the mismatched hood in this picture, had an incident with the original hood and wind-this was a short term solution...
this was the car when I inherited it from my uncle, needless to say it was a basket case.

Hey Matt, greetings from another Canadian named Smitty :P

Can't wait to see your 144 with a bit more attitude. I have a contact in Elora who can widen your stock steels. He's actually doing a set for me this weekend. Shoot me an e-mail and I'll pass along his details (brilliant.michael - at - gmail.com).

Thanks for the kind words an encouragement so far guys. I had to pull the 144 out of storage and start using it as a daily driver this spring, it will be a few weeks before I can get any real work done to it.
