welcome... and I say mod this car... not because it will be worth it in the end, although you may shock the world, look at all the shit being created from old volvos, miatas, and other odd platforms... skys the limit, but I say mod it so you can build some skill in the fabrication and innovation line of things, nothing is made for this car so you will have to get creative which is something the community is lacking, anyone can buy a civic or miata, throw rotas or bart wheels on it stretch some tires and go stupid low but where does the creativity and actual car building start? besides the opportunity to blow minds and/or get laughed at in the process you have a great learning platform in front of you, I learned by reading how-to's in magazines... those printed paper things with alot of pictures at the news stand rack... haha and then diving into the car I currently owned like it was christmas... before you go posting a shit load of how do I threads on every forum you find though use the search buttons, read... read... read... and after you read, read some more, youll need to sift through all the bullshit and stupid opinions, but with a level head and a mind willing to learn you will have a blast... go to work!

btw... this is a Chrysler "K" car, they have a solid following and are loved by many, even in the autocross world so don't let anyone tell you how big of a piece of shit it is, its alot better then my first car.

go to the grocery store and pick up Project Car magazine. no matter what kind of cars you're wanting to get into, this magazine is full of do it yourself's that explain everything from suspension installations to motor swaps, to the T. if you don't understand some terminology, just google it. personally its one of my favorite reads because i always learn something.

Thank you guys for all your help and input. So i have some news, car is officially mine and im going to be picking it up sometime next week. I can post some pictures when i get it and its all cleaned up if anybody cares to see it? The car is in a lot better condition then i originally thought, the interior is in basically new condition and it only has 30k miles on it (Gotta love little old lady garage finds). So after a little bit of thought i think i am going to put some money into it and modify it, if not for the cool factor then just for the experience and overall fun of doing it. It turns out i'll probably only be owning the car for two years but that's two years of experience that i can gain. Like what has been suggested I've been all over the web researching this car, i still don't know how im gona slam it but im sure ill figure it out. Like you guys say read, read, and read. I plan on picking up Project Car magazine sounds like a magazine i could really get into and extremely useful. So again thanks for the help, i really really appreciate it.

i had a reliant wagon briefly.

beyond spray painting a firebird emblem on the hood, i didnt do a whole lot to it. its funny years later seeing someone still driving it with the (now faded) but clearly visible bird still doin her thang. haha.

anyways a k car is as good as any to start messin around with. and if you end up liking the chrysler scene, how about a turbo omni instead of a mk1 rabbit?

i know which id rather have.
