Love the w210s. Been looking at one recently and so tempted to pick it up and cut a few coils.
I hear in Canada you can take the w210 to any Benz dealer and they're obligated to rust proof it every year

also, car looks awesome. I think some 25mm spacers in the rear could really help - you would most likely need to get longer wheel bolts also so the bolt could go through the wheel, the spacer and still have enough thread left to grab into the hub. safety is important

yea, when you lower it you could go a few ways
1. Cut the stock springs - cheap and some say a bit dangerous but will work for the most part
2. Lowered springs - a few hundreds dollars and will lower it 1.5-2" (maybe not enough, so can cut a coil of them to get lower)
3. coilovers - these are adjustable manually to raise/lower the car - not sure if they are available for w201 - cost Im not sure maybe 800-2000
4. air - airbags replace springs and it remotely adjustable to any height you desire - expensive - a few thousand

Congratulations! first off.
I think that you can make it work. mesh faced wheels are tricky, especially on our cars. but, with the right amount of:
1) LoW
2) umph...spacers
3) neg camber - last but you know it's not the ingredient you want to overlook especially with our cars...will be surprised how much natural camber you'll achieve by just closing up wheel gap.
4) and a few supporting mods
Don't sweat all these guys bombarding you with constructive criticism even if some may come off as displaying no enthusiasm or degree of brotherhood. don't trip, they just may be the very same people you'll be laughing@in traffic in no time flat...let it come off as just that too because they'll need it to keep them motivated - may just be where their inferior STANCE on the subject originates from. should i slow it down? Don't believe me, just check the source. Sometimes what people say just comes out the wrong way, i myself am guilty of*it too so I'm not going to lay into any of them as it's your thread and you are asking for help and i think that's what they were aiming for. wasted space. your car has a lot of potential and I'm more than happy to help you out in any way i can in reference to the question at hand.
I've got some links to parts that will smoothe out your e class - at least i feel that they did for mine. some people even seem to think so too.
Again, you're all good. Congratulations!
sorry for the rant but god damn man, some people's kids.
build each other up, we have the rest of the world to try to break us down.
Any help you need, feel free to pm me.
you have pm.

IMO i would of spent the money on suspension setup instead of wheels.. but.. its your car, do what you feel! The tails are a big to dark for my taste.. the wheels could work tho.

i think with spacers these wheels will work. and i kinda like the tails too

you're getting in wrong direction i think...
need wider wheels, even with spacer these will not work, but that's just me...
also if i were you - will change the taillights with stock ones or the facelift ones.
