i finally registered here after lurking hard
i just got into an accident after having my license for 13 years and my insurance company totalled my 98 GTI that i have had for 6 years its not that bad but i guess 146k plus 12 year old car equals totalled, whatever i'm bent but what can i do

so i got this fresh '93 GS300 off my friends' parents for 1200 its clean, its got 176k on it but a 2JZ-GTE swap and 5speed swap will make its way in there eventually
i'm currently doing research so when the tax return comes I can get wheels and suspension proper

Did that take that GTI or do you still have it? Just curious really.

That GS is pretty hot, I can't wait to see what you do with it.

the GTI is in my driveway, i bought it back for $150 and i swapped the plates to the GS
I am fixing it and selling it to a kid at my job
lucky for me I've parted out a few MK3s with friends so i have all the parts i need

The GS is a whole new world for me
I want to go low, wide and flush with some stretch
but i want to do a 5speed swap and na-t it as well
it was garage kept for all the 15 years my friend's parents had it
but the timing belt was never done, no prob though I'm a toyota tech

Glad the GTI is going to see some more time on the road, they're great little cars.

If I might make a suggestion, air bags would probably be best for something like this, if only because such a long car (If I remember correctly, they're pretty big) will probably need lift out on the streets once in a while. Statics can be done, but it's hard. The motor and tranny swap is admirable, but I thought most of this gen of GS came with a 2JZ, no? All autos, true, but at least the motor's there.
