  • Hello Everyone!

Hey there I'm Rob from Hampshire, England

I've been looking to buy a VW Golf Mk2 for flipping ages now, but I can't seem to find the 1.6 Driver 3dr that I need which is relatively close to where I live

I know the day will come! but when it does, i'm thinking that I don't really know where to start.
I only started being such a car enthusiast around a year ago, alas I have not had any physical experiences with modifying cars other than the odd job with my Punto (current daily) such as fixing the bonnect catch and exhaust mountings. Not very exciting I know...

I'm looking to lower and pretty much fully stance my golf once I get one. Thing is i've heard alot of concepts being thrown around, some of these being 'notching chassis' 'poke' 'stretching tyres' 'camber altercations' and such. I know what all of these actions generally entail but I have no idea how to undertake any of them let alone understand how they work and what they really mean. I suppose you could call me a total stance noobie ^_^

Well, anyways, I was hoping that some of you may be able to explain to me the full and inner workings of how to go about 'stancing' your car. I would also highly appreciate any tutorials linked to forementioned lowering activities

Thanks in advance, I've really enjoyed reading some of the build threads on this website already and hope to become an active and knowledgable member of this community in time!

    Rob

Haha yeah I know someone who's created a monster of a mk2, really inspired me to grab my own!

So does anyone have any places to share where in I can improve my knowledge of stancing?
