Project 02

Today I started on my 2002 rebuilt. I dont have too much style wise right now but I will be updating as I go on.

Project of the day.... 8/2/09.....Engine tear down.

Here is there I started today.


Remember, label all parts.


After about 45 minutes, manifolds and head are off.




A little bit of carbon, but all and all in decent shape.


Time to flip her over and remove the oil pan.


Out come the guts.


Pile o' parts.


And finally an empty block.


The block and head are going to go to a machine shop to get acid dipped then its going back together. I think its going to run twin webbers and a mild cam. I am not doing too much to hop it up, this car is going to be all about style. Like I said more to come as I get more work done.

Chemical burns are fun.


30 some odd years of grime doesnt go with out a fight.

More cleaning.


Polished oil pan......should I?????




Nah.. Threw on a coat of aircraft bare aluminum primer.


While that was drying spent 2 hours cleaning the intake manifold in the parts washer.




Then the first coat of semi gloss on the pan.


I think tonight I am going to get a list of parts together for the engine and order them. Hopefully tomorrow dropping off the block and head to be cleaned and milled.

Not quite sure what you are looking for...........but Ill pm you a pic of what I think it is....

All joking aside I do need to talk to you about what wheels to run since I think the 320 and 2002 are pretty close offset wise.

Anyway I couldn't leave the damn thing alone so two more pics.
