In Australia most people prefer manual, you get handed a lot of shit if you get an auto license/car, from anyone, even people who wouldn't be able to locate their spare let alone change a flat...

Mine is also a 76 and I can not count how many times I have had the same conversation. Word for word.

I get this all the time. And people asking me why I would want to drive something so old.

Yeah that too. There was a 6 week period once where I drove ODB 100 miles a day for work, during the middle of summer in Atlanta with no A/C. People didn't understand why.

I also get a lot of people asking me if I'll sell my wheels. The answer is always no.

I bought my car with style 2s and 225/60/15 gross truck looking tires. (You know the ones.) and I finally get my AC Schnitzer 18x8.5 with 215/35/18. My mom comes in the garage, stares blankly and says "I don't get it your old tires are way bigger. Isn't that what you wanted?"

I know she's not a "non-car guy" but I had to share.

first time I heard it called a chirp, but then again you have the HKS. sounds like a squirrel getting it in the ass.

sorry but over here, all the wack builds immediately go for the HKS just because they think it sounds cool. Every subaru I see is completely stock with the exception of an HKS bov.
