  • An Uncommon Stance: 2005 Hyundai Elantra

So I know its definitely not a common car to stance, but its what i have so i thought why the fuck not. I just got into cars after i met some friends in college and liked the stance/slammed/lowered scene, and wanted to try and do something that hasnt been done yet. (plus I don't have the funds to buy another car.) I currently have a set of Raceland Adjustable Coilovers, and I am in the market for some wheels, so if you want to get rid of some wheels in the Orlando area, let me know....although I dont have a large budget, as I am a college student, but anyways here are some pictures.

I have since blacked out the green H emblem, and it looks a lot better. it doesnt look as low as it does in person, but it currently sits about 4" off the ground. once i get the wheels i want i will lose approx 1.7" ride height, dropping me down to about 2.3" off the ground at the sideskirt, and approx 1.3" with my home depot special lip, (they dont carry lips for my car anymore and they are very hard to find, plus i would be like eating shit and the lip would get destroyed. the home depot lip can take some abuse) and then i can adjust the coils a bit more to my liking.

yup. thanks. thats one of the things i like the most about the majority of the stance scene is everyone likes cars for cars, and doesn't **** on brands/makes (most of the time.)

Nice nice nice nice! (its me avantegt from the forums)
They don't make lips for this car, but many lips fit.

Here is my newest lip I got a few weeks ago after I crashed.

Ill try to get pics of my old lip up too.

hahaha you found it!! haha nice! i definitely dig that lip. yeah i was being sarcastic about the custom lip lol. i absolutely love how it looks (dead serious), i did some renderings/drawings before i got it and it looks exactly like i thought it would, but its a home depot special held on by zip ties, so not a lot of custom fab was really done. but it looks awesome.

Yeah, I like how yours looks OEM+

Very clean! Now you need those rims hahahaha.

If you were down here in cali I would let you roll on my GT wheels until you can get different ones.

thanks, yeah i need wheels big time. i like the OEM+ that and if i got a body/lip kit, i couldn't get as low as i want. so this lip can let me get the low lows, and take some abuse too, unlike a fiberglass one, which would probably get ripped off or have some maaaaaaad drift stitching.

+2 I'd love to see this car on any wheels other than OEM!

haha well, the spoiler is a Kaminari Racing Wing, which usually goes for about $230 and i got it for $35 off a dude on craigslist. I thought the rear of my car needed something, and it looks good from like a 3/4 shot of the front of the car, but other than that it looks kinda silly. but i don't have the cash to fix it at the moment, so for now, it stays. once i get the cash to shave the rear bumper completely, then it will come off. thanks for the wheels suggestions btw.

I like the Work Emotion 11R but they don't come as a 15"x8".... =( i really want Work Meisters with the white spokes and chrome lip, but i dont have like 3 grand to drop on wheels. thats why i suggested the cheaper XXR and diamond racing wheels. does anyone know the real version of the XXR 532?

                              15's will look terrible IMO.

I almost went with 16's on my car but ended up with 17's and it looks perfect. Elantra's are pretty much the same chassis/size so I'd stick with 17's. You can get real wheels for $1k if you take the time to look around. I got my Walds for less than that and they are dual drilled (4/5x114.)

Check out VR Wheels for legit wheels at a good price.
