  • 1991 Austin Mini

    Hi all !

It's been a long time since I wanted to create a thread here, so, here it is !

Cyril, 23 yo, France, that all you have to know from me

For the car, it's my first car, my parents offered it to me when I graduated from High School back in 2011. It has been my daily driver for 3 years, I did 55000km in it when I decided to buy a more recent daily and keep it as a week end pleasure

The engine is the 1000cc and my plan is to replace it by a 1300cc with some upgrades

    The modification :
    Exterior :
    -Gold supelight rims 5x12
    -"Obus" Mirrors
    -Rear light from mk3 Mini
    -New grill
    -Fastening clip for the grill
    -Wheel arch group 2 huddersfield
    -Green hood and roof
    -White indicators
    -Stainless steel petrocal cap

    Intérieur :
    -Black carpet
    -Leather door panel
    -Alloy interior door handle set
    -Cobra Classic RS Seats
    -Leather for rear seats
    -Stainless steel interior mirror
    -Steering wheel leather and polished
    -Gear level knob leather
    -Accelerator pedal "Paddy Hopkirk"

    Motor :
    -Stage 1
    -Electric Igniter

    Chassis :
    -Tyres Yokohama A539
    -Hi-Lo kit
    -Front camber kit (-1.5°)
    -Adjustables tie bar rods
    -Rear camber kit (0°)
    -EBC black brake pads
    -Damper lowered height

And I think that is all !

    Now the photo :

    Origin :

    With the first mods :

    In it's garage

    Old vs new seats

    And now :

I'll post some photos of all the evolution if you're interested in. Thanks for everybody who have read it all

Edit, the olds pictures aren't working anymore, so here are some to have the 1st post interesting :

        Thanks you

Yeah it's a lot of fun in small roads, the only problem is the lack of power, but the chassis is perfect for a fast road use

                Hello !

                Thank you DawsonLiri

Since the beginning, I wanted an old speedometer like this :

So for christmas, I ordered all the things I needed to do the modification.

Here was my original speedometer :

And here after two days of works with my father :

Another part I ordered is a part to lower my steering column.

The original one is on the right, with two parts, and right is the new one I'll receive.

And how it'll look like :

                Bye !

That's a great looking Mini. Surprised that we don't see many of these in the States even though 90% of them can be legally imported now.

Nice car, you are right, vintage speedometer in central position get a good look and matches perfectly the seat

Ca me tente de plus en plus une mini

Me either, so bad price are sky high right now

Appart for that, looks so great the old dash, I agree with you. What will you do for the rev counter?

Thanks, I think a Mini would look so small on US roads

I think I will do the same as the inspiration picture, put the rev counter behind the wheel I think

I never knew these were 90's cars! Weirdly enough I always assumed they were 70's cars that people kept really clean due to their styling. I love these little things and those wheels look right at home IMO.

                              Doud,
Beautiful car, awesome work on the mods and upgrades. Its so clean, love the car. I'd daily the heck out of it.

I used to see them more often in Boston, they were quite popular at the classic car shows.
Since we have moved to NC, I have seen one in 9 years.
