  • Bimmer guys, few questoin about the s85/s65.

    Hey guys,

i hope someone can answer this as i wasn't able to find any infos...

My question is about the two little electric oilpump fitted to the s65/s85
They mount left and right to the oilpan
They pump the oil from the engine/oilpan to the pick up in the oilpan which sits pretty far
    back in the pan.
From what i understand this engines has a semi drysump system...

Does anybody know how much of presure this pump produces?
How is it wired, switched 12v, a relay?
Where do i get a plug to wire it?

This is the pump i talk about:

    It's the no. 6 in the pic.., parts no is 11 41 7 834 496

It is also fitted to a (smg) trans, in the pic above, as the pump for the oilcooler.

    Thanks a lot in advance!

No. 6 is a bolt. The part in question is your electrical oil pump. Its connected to the engine harness by i think a 2 or 3 prong connector..I dont remember.exactly. The connection looks like its nearly the same as the thermostat. Since its wired from the engine harness the voltage supply should be at least 12 volts. As for getting the connector im no sure where you can get it. Maybe hack an engine harness? Or maybe try realoem.com,
