  • The little Volvo 145

    Hello All
I think it is finally time to introduce myself after spending many hours/weeks here reading people builds, researching wheel and tire combos, purchasing wheel and tire combos and pretty much just enjoying everything this site has to offer. After going through several fox body mustangs and a 69 Chevy c10, I bought my 68 Volvo 145 about 6 years ago. I drove it for about 8 months before the engine started to develop a knock. That sucked, but as always I knew that I could rebuild it and make it a little better. Perhaps I could upgrade the carbs or do some work to the head... so I pulled the motor. Well, as most car guys know, it's never just one little thing, it's, 'I might as well do this while I'm in here, oh, and there's that too...' It's a slippery slope and that slip down the slope took place over the next 2 years going from stock to full rebuild. From this...

    to this...

    and from this...

    to this...

As always, things still aren't done. There is an 8.8 rearend in the near future, as well as a brake upgrade and coilovers. Until then, I'm trying to get the last nice days of summer on the odometer.

Good lord that engine. How much are you expecting out of that set up? Also some close up pictures of that exhaust manifold would be awesome. I'm going to be starting a 16V build in the near future.

DUDE. your engine is amazing. im currently swapping a b230ft into a 242gt, but this is so fucking cool. looks like you kept the distributor on the back of the head? do you have to modify the firewall to do that?
