Looks great. I'm sure this will be a beast when it is finished.

        The metal work continues.

Block off plates for the HVAC vent holes.

All this cage is going to require some bigger fenders. Below 300hp or so, I am not convinced the added drag of going to turbo fenders pays off from a performance stand point so Carrera fenders are going on.

        Measure twice, cut once.

And now time to get rid of the sunroof. Tried a couple different plugs to close the hole and none of them fit all that well so the only solution was a roof swap with a non-sunroof skin.

A little paint while things are easy to get to.

I wasn't quite brave enough to try it so body man, John Esposito, stepped in and unrolled the rain gutter to swap just the skin and rolled it all back up.

And now, finally, test fitting the new shoes! 8.5" and 10" by 18" Fikse's,

Let's just say, one of my jobs at work has a way of imparting an appreciation for premium wheels.

As project creep continues, this thing showed up. G50 Torque tube out of a '87-'89 911 that will allow me to move the drive train forward slightly as well as fit a G50 transmission when/if I ever get a big motor.

Cut a big hole in the back seats.

And voila (if only it were this easy), lots more work to get this thing swapped in.

After a couple years of bouncing between shops getting the heavy fab work knocked out after hours, I built a shed to house this thing in my parents back yard and dragged the whole mess home.

It all fits but got to get rid of what is left of my Kinesis hoarding after deciding I wasn't going wide body.

It did look pretty cool though with 10s and 13s.

Man lovely build, it's crazy how small it looks compared to the e36.
