Question Lowering a 300e 4matic. Can it be done?

    Hi there,

I have a 1991 Mercedes 300E 4matic. I was told it cannot be lowered. But it sits so high!

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance!

It's going to be difficult on a 4matic due to how your front springs are formed. Because of the front axle location, I think your only option is going to be to cut the stock springs, as I'm not aware of any aftermarket options whatsoever. You'll have to cut from the top, and be careful to keep the springs rotated the same as they are now so they don't rub on the front axles. You can also remove the spring pads at the top of the springs or replace them with shorter versions to get slightly lower. The rear should be straightforward, however.

Your best option, IMO, would be to get a non-4matic W124. It's not like the AWD system ever works anyways
