  • CAtuned E28 Build

Last year we bought this E28 in SanFransisco
It was originally bought to be used as a daily and just cruising around.
    Car is a 525 - Super Eta M20. Auto
Interior is very clean with the dash being mint.
Exterior is decent but is showing age along with the owner being old started to loose sight and unable to park and etc created some small dings and etc.

With the other projects in the shop whining down. It was time to focus on this one.
And while at first I wanted to just do the basics. I'm finding my self doing more and more on it and after all I call the E28 the bigger bro of the e30 and I love those.

Well anywho here is the car and what's been done so far. Hope you enjoy- Igor P.

So First I began by removing the entire rear end assembly off the car.
The entire Rear end, All the suspension, Diff, etc.
Last year I did upgrade the rear brakes to the E34 540 M Vented Rotors, Calipers, Ceramic pads as seen in the picture.

All of the items were taken apart, Cleaned and then recoated.
The rear subframe was redone to add Caster/ Camber Adjustment
With all new bushings installed. Poly where available
Including the old Undercoating scraped off and cleaned. Then new Undercoating sprayed on

New Parts going in are: Ireland Eng. Heavy duty Sway bars, and all new suspension Arms. As well as our CAtuned coilovers.

The tires for the front wheels got here.
So we mounted them up and they look just right.
But we will have to wait and see. First need to get all the suspension pieces done and get it on the ground.

For the Drivetrain. Engine & Trans. The plan is to pull the motor and do a swap.
The car is low miles it's got about 120K on it. But the Super Eta motor is just well slow and unfun.
How ever average MPG is 30 which isnt bad at all.
We are in the process of doing a new S52. Fully Rebuilt top to bottom with some Cam upgrades and bolt on goodies. Here is the Start of that rebuild:

One thing forgot to mention. We did Upgrade to the Euro Headlights, Grilles and Euro rear bumper last year. The plan is to install a complete Mtech kit on the car.
