Almost 6 years without any news....
During this time, I bought and sell several cars (BMW M535, BMW 318is, BMW 545i, Audi S6 C5, S6 C6, etc...) Changing job 3 times to come back where I was in 2014
Built by myself a new 90m2 garage from scratch....
Letting me few time for this car, on top of that I was still trying to find a good paintshop for the car...
In the meantime I worked on the 1289cm3 engine, and it is as new now.
But last week, the car went back from the paintshop (at least the shell, the doors and all the rest has still to be painted)
So thanks to the Coronavirus I have some time to spend on it...
For now it is pics time, enjoy:
I will keep you updated

In this car the engine is at the rear, behing the rear axle.
so the radiator is on the back of the car, you can si it here:
The part supporting the radiator was in bad shape, so it has been sandblasted and powdercoated.
All the screw, bolts, clips etc, are new or sandblasted and zinc plated
Before/after
The original copper radiator (that was leaking) has been replaced by an aluminium one.

Some more work on the Renault 8
This time on the engine, this one is not the original one.
It is what we call in France a "V85", it is found on the Alpine A110... Well... usually... this one comes from a Dynalpin that is an equivalent of Alpine but built in Mexico for the south American market...
Originally the engine is a 1108cm3, this one is a 1289cm3 adding around 30hp (so more than 50% more power than the original)
The engine was in a very bad shape, painted red over the original blue....
I removed everything on the engine, including the paint...
Some welding has to be done on one support
Aye Caramba!
Some preparation for the painting
And the engine was ready for the paint, the paint is a special paint for engines:
To be continued....
