    • Hope everyone is doing well these days.

Decided to put some time into my beloved Golf.

Golf | wash by mgpdoc, on Flickr

This is mostly sitting in the garage, and not much dirt or sun has seen it lately, however there were many areas to improve, as you will see in the process.

First of all here is a video, for those of you that prefer animation

Now onto the pics and the explaining of things that went on.

      First up were the wheels

Golf | Wash by mgpdoc, on Flickr

Golf | Wash by mgpdoc, on Flickr

The smell was strong with this one

Golf | Wash by mgpdoc, on Flickr

Golf | Wash by mgpdoc, on Flickr

They came out amazing in my eyes, and tires were finished with Car pro Perl.

      Tips were looked after

Golf | Wash by mgpdoc, on Flickr

Also captured some greek sunshine while i was there

Golf | wash by mgpdoc, on Flickr

      Then a proper hand wash

Golf | Wash by mgpdoc, on Flickr

Front grille was looking a bit tired

Golf | Wash by mgpdoc, on Flickr

So some Perl was added there as well to enhance the plastics.

Filler after cleaning and Perl treatment

Interior of trunk had some overspray from the old days i had painted an interior trim prior to retrofitting a black alcantara headliner

      After the acetone treatment

Treating every rubber seal with Perl

      Windshield

      Sunroof

Golf | Wash by mgpdoc, on Flickr

Some reflections after drying it, and before applying some protection , which came in the form of the old AutoGlym Ultra Deep Shine with some Meg's NXT after it

      It wasnt bad at all

              • Like I said before, one of the most entertaining things to do during the lockdown, was ordering stuff online. LoL

                So this came in

                Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

Had plenty of things inside it, for both the daily cars

                Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

Fire extinguisher was refurbished for the year

                Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

                And put in place

                Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

Bought a set of neat cases for my ctek chargers, one in each car, and they look fantastic and classy

                Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

                Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

I also bought a retro label maker and went nuts on multiple things

                Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

                Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

Some lamps for the New headlights as well

                Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

And then it was all about installing them on the car, which requires some work on the mkv golf, sadly

                Cheers

                • Thought I had updated some things here but again I see that I havent so lets fix that.

We were at the point, that I had bought the headlights and was about to install them.

                  So let's get to that.

In this car, sadly, in order to remove headlights, you have to remove the front end basically.

                  Started with this

                  Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

I ***** the years that went by with these ballasts of HID kits. Never again I think

Polished the charge pipes while i was there

                  • Given the fact that acquired another project car, I rearranged some things.

So I went from this custom biller shift knob

                    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

To my previous beloved sparco one which looks great in the Golf

Also, because I am using the golf 18'' wheels in the A4 currently I swapped the Audi 17in wheels for now. Which at first were very weird , but currently they are not as bad as I thought. Plus, they offer a serious sleeper look status, which I totally love and have fun with when i take it out for a drive.

Here is how the swap story went so far.

                    Wheels

The center caps could not be snapped on, due to the stud conversion I am running they werent deep enough.

So instead I found some audi caps I had laying around and popped them on

You would never guess this runs a GTX3076 with an external wastegate pipe screaming on WOT, would you now, be honest

                    Untitled by mgpdoc, on Flickr

To be honest, I might even go as far as colour matching these wheels and adding red Audi caps in the center.

                    Who knows we shall see.

                    Cheers

HELL YEAH. I knew it there was something about it, I knew something with an eye would get it.

I think colourmatched wheels with red caps and either silver or gold audi rings will make them pop out even more.
