While I didn't know Cory, his passing got me thinking. Have we hit that age where we all need to be checking in with each other, because from here on out, the only time we find time to get together is at funerals?

Probably not a bad idea. Definitely the worst part of getting older.

Sounds like a perfect Cory weekend.

We have absolutely hit that age where checking in with each other is necessary. I think having a kid made me realize this, then with Cory passing it exacerbated everything.
I caught myself messaging family members, having more FaceTimes with people back in Australia etc, it's necessary now.

I hope y'all are doing well and safe

Took the Scrambler up to Woodland Hills on Sunday. Had lunch with Jeremy and Allie and then chased their M3 through some of the Malibu canyons. Super fun day. I definitely need some sort of Camelback system though.

Finally getting two days off this week. First time since May, aside from Cory's funeral.

Oh nice work CJ, I'm trying to see if I can take next week off but who knows, we just started the fourth quarter projects so not sure if I can really secure the time off before Black Friday etc

Part of me wants to do wheels and suspension to my Impreza. Part of me is like “…why? It’s just an Impreza.”

I'm mega pumped. Supposedly focus on cage and front end being torn down, the fuel tank has been removed and started making moves there.
Hopefully going to get more photos in the near future.

Just gotta leave it for a bit.
Speaking of, sold the Avant to Miller, hopefully he gets more use out of it than I did over the past year and a half!

Fuck I just want to quit programming for a company and work on my own shit.
Days like today, I just wanna do cool shit with the Porsche. I'm tempted to purchase a 3D printer and start making parts for it...

Do it! Printers dont need to be that expensive anymore and they are a great tool to have. "rapid" prototyping ( if you can call 3d printing fast lol ), being able to make shapes that you couldnt even imagine and just having a CNC machine at your disposal feels really cool.

I have an Ender 3 pro, plan to upgrade to a Prusa. Its just a nice hobby to get into

Oh snap, I was actually looking at the Ender 3 Pro for a starting printer...
I might pull the trigger on it over the weekend, it's something I am genuinely interested in learning and also, I have some cool ideas for the 911 that I just don't think anyone else is doing

Bang for buck they are absolutely the best. Lots of mods available, big aftermarket and decent interface. Got any experience with 3d modeling?

Yeah I have some experience, but a long time ago, will just jump back into Fusion. I did Autodesk for about five years, but that's going on 8 years ago now...

I currently work with Autodesk Inventor. Have tried Fusion a little while back but I just could not get into the workflow. Actually suprised me Inventor and Fusion are so different from each other

Oh very interesting! I might have to take a look, I also found a couple of other beginner printers that might be fun to start using… should probably finish the 911 though aha

I used to run a few Makergear M3's at a previous gig, can confirm that 3D printers are a wise investment. I'm eyeballing getting one for home. Now because they're so handy for day-to-day stuff.

I was a little spoiled having Solidworks for work; a student license is cheap ($100/year) and slicing software is cheap.

Do it, Seb. You'll be happy you did.

See the printer as a tool, not as a new hobby. I use my printer for jigs, small mounting brackets and even as a 2D plotter because my paper printer cant print to scale. (just model your template as a 1mm thick plate and stop the printer after layer one :') )

So it could probably really help you out with the Porsche!

Alright, definitely going to pull the trigger on a printer.
I think I'm just gonna get a FlashForge 3, it seems like I don't have to do any setup and just feed it designs etc.
Easiest solutions are my favorite solutions, although at some point I'll probably want to upgrade and get more from it...

How easy is it to merge two prints? I've seen a few videos of epoxying them together, I assume for larger pieces it is necessary....

    Hell yeah new wheels.

Got a free exhaust for the Ducati cause the shop was gonna throw it out. Looked it up and it turns out the damn thing is titanium and about 700 bucks brand new.
